Did you just list the specific parts you are asking us to help you figure out? If you know what you want just start looking around and build your own PC.

actually I'll build you one right now, just a template so you have an idea of whats possible and readjust accordingly. + Show Spoiler + $42 Some cool cases with good airflow and looks $60 250GB SATA HDD $275 E8400 CPU with decent ASUS mobo $25 Heatsink for CPU $140 ATI HD4850 (the catch is that it comes with WoW, so you might look for other alternatives.) $78 2GB PC2 9600 RAM $23 DVD Burner, I only included one, if you want to get another then get one with similar specs and prices, preferably not the same one. $70 700W Powersupply does not support crossfire, this is one of my favorite brand, I have the 750W version, love it. and then throw in some other stuff you want, like more fans. Total: $713 after rebate, and these are regular prices, not on sale. Like I said, this is just a quick template in 10 minutes, make some adjustments to fit your needs.

That system would pull under 300W at full load.

Else for 600 bucks in gaming terms. Slap down most of that into a GPU the rest into i guess and cheap amd mobo and cpu. dont bother with 4850 just get 50 bucks cheaper 8800gt But it is do-able. I take it your screen is small so it doesn't matter.

Also not a thing as too much power tell that to my electric bill. Screw a cheap power supply get a reliable one that is more tune for the power you need. Hell i run 4 sticks of ddr2 ram 3 hdd's an old amd cpu 125w a 8800gts sound card and 2 dvd drives. include my wifi card and all i need is my 610w power supply from pc power and cooling. Here is my take on it It would be better but throw in case dvd drive little things like that take up a good share of the cost. If i included a os really couldn't do shit then. 608 after tax and shipping

But who cares not like any real games use open gl. They are practically the same in performance

look how the 9600gt outperform the 8800gt and how close it is to a 9800gt

You say $600 is easy, then you present a computer that costs $713. Not so easy was it? lol

I did tell him to adjust accordingly. It'll just waste power. Power supplies are made to be most efficient at certain loads, so a 700W for a system that never needs more than 200W is going to be pretty inefficient.
