|
i haven't even heard of most of these. damn ur asian to the core
even if you aren't asian
my recommendation is the one with the word devil in the title because it will probably be the most pleasant short-term
thats how the devil works

Travis has some pretty epic logic.

You should have made it a poll, that makes things so much more fun

I'd recommend Shadow Hearts 2.
This game is quite good, and I never liked FFT

If you have free time to kill, I vote for "spend it asking for advice on how to spend it."

Persona3... i've always wanted to play the megami tensei series, but never got around to it. Ah it's ps2, unfortunately I dont own PS3 hence I cannot play it!
And since I only play rpg's in region 2, I dont have the option

Final Fantasy Tactics definitely... with a very difficult single class challenge

get yourself a memor32 (think their cheap now) and find an iso on the net, burn it, play it. if memor32 doesnt work just get a usb stick + cogswap.elf onto it and boot from there (thats what i did, complicated, but it works)

if you prefer one of your games "nobody knows", just play it. it's not your fault the majority here only knows FFT

FF2 because it's got the gayest levelling up system ever

is it gayer than the romancing saga series?
|
Well I voted Langrisser 5 to play devil's advocate but to be honest, I stopped playing that game halfway through myself. I mean, part of the problem for me was not knowing Japanese and thus having to guess at spell descriptions (the rest of the menus were easy enough with previous Langrisser experience) not to mention not knowing what was going on. But I felt it to be an inferior game to 2 and 4, mostly from the mechanics of the half-step movement system. There is a hard mode, though, so it was at least much more of a challenge than 4.
So I kind of feel I should say ToD1 just because it's Tales, even though I haven't played it. Growlanser...don't know much about it other than it's also Career Soft.
No need to play FFT again dur. At least L5 beats that. -_-;;

Are the Romancing Saga games even that similar in terms of mechanics? I thought they weren't, but I haven't played them except for 3. I know at least FF2j's leveling is much gayer than RS3's, as there's no skills to learn, and it takes even longer to grind for weapon levels I think.

FFT but don't cheat -- no cloning of weapons if you want a challenge, don't use special characters once they're added to your party aka no argias or orlandu orlandu makes the game too easy

Just make 5 mages with every spell, then turn them into calculators and set auto-battle. :D You won't even need orlandu anymore.

Final Fantasy Suxorz~
you need "Suikoden"

Play ToD1, the whole series is really good. the story and gameplay are both enjoyable, the only thing ToD1 lacks that the ones after it have, is the ability to choose to cast spells without pausing the battle, which is slightly annoying. The AI isn't terrible, but at boss fights you're going to be pausing to make sure heal is casting and stuff.
If you want a really challenging game, I wouldn't play ToD1, it has it's moments, but it's not really too difficult. If you want a fun game, with a good story though, I'd play it. It's a decent length, especially for one disc.
I guess if you've played the other ones first, it will be hard for you to appreciate it as much, since the improvements in the others are really quite nice, but the story and gameplay is still really excellent, so I'd reccomend it. oh, and the one thing that's really enjoyable later in the game, I guess it's partially a spoiler, but not a spoiler of the story, is this dungeon...
+ Show Spoiler +Tower of Druaga a 60 floor dungeon with no save spots. It is completely optional, but if you do play it, you're basically obligated to go through it.
I've played pretty much the whole series in order, and ToD1 is my top 2 of the series, so I guess that says something. Just play whatever you think you'll enjoy though.
