Ipod shuffle

i need a rugged simple mp3 player that can take a LOOT of punishment. Does ipod shuffle match these criteria? Any other recomendations perhaps?

What are you doing that's so dangerous to an mp3 player? :S If you're just biking or jogging or something just about any mp3 player will survive, but a shuffle is small and light so you'll probably feel safest with it.

You should really say what you need it for. I mean, what you plan on doing when using it.

and if you must use it while having sex, remember don' get it wet!

i use a shuffle for joggin and whatever excersize cuz its light and small

its a bitch to change to specific song though but i guess its fine if u just listen to anything in ur shuffle

I just got a nano with one of those protective cases. I have a friend that has a shuffle and he bikes a lot with it. I don't like them because of the reason flying just said, it sucks for listening to specific songs.

Get a mp3 player that has a ssd not a spinning drive like the bigger ipods. I believe the shuffle is flash mem so it can take alot of punishment in terms of dropping. Just go though mp3 players you want and check what kind of mem it uses then buy a good case for it soft one preferable.

Pretty sure most of the zens are like that also and anything too thin to fit a spitting disk. Usually anything under 16gb is pretty much auto flash mem of some sort. Cause it's cheaper and better performance.

Although i would at lest suggest something with a screen but most ones with a readable screen aren't simple now of days.

Just check for flash mem probably just use wiki for it and see how many parts protrude.

i need it for brutal workouts, punching bags, sprinting, circuits, etc. My old mp3 player was dropped, thrown, hit by iron and many more in the process.
