so i was making a reaction solution today in the lab.

chemicals used: Toluene, Ferrocene, and Pyradine.

Holy SHIT Pyradine smells like ass it was so bad what the fucking hell. A lot of you probably know the foulness of Sulfur, but shit this was just a completley different type of shit smell. Sulfur smells like some rotten shit but Pyridine smells like what i mentioned before - ASS.

Fuck I dont want to use that shit again >__>

Funny... I think pyridine is actually one of the better smelling organic solvents. It smells like fruit to me (although supposedly that only happens when it goes bad...).

Toluene makes me feel sick very easily since I worked with it so much... benzene smells a lot better (not that you want to be smelling it haha

correction: it smells like rubber on steriods + ass.
I was constantly spitting b/c it was doing weird shit to my senses.

man pyridine smells horrible, i think i had to use it in my ochem lab last year. half the chemicals either didn't smell or had ok smells, but then the other half... oh god bad memories T_T

God they put that stuff in the gas we used at chemistry so you could smell it, and people tend to fuck around with the gas so the smell in the class was often absolutely horrible though thankgod only for a matter of seconds.

It really does smell like sewage.

Pyridine will give you birth defects, so when you smell it, you know someone fucked up and needs to learn how fume hoods work.

dude seriously, why am i working with fucking toxic chemicals and materials. CNT is basically asbestos, the chemicals inhaling them I'ms ure I'm fucking myself over.

Becareful with smelling to many chemicals. I had a lab instructor who had to put a gas mask on when we brought out the nasty stuff because she had been exposed to way to many chemicals in her life and developed hypersensitivity to them.
