I’ve been getting asked this a lot lately so I guess now’s as good a time and place to answer it once and for all. Hopefully after writing all this nobody will ever enquire again and I can get through life without having to repeat the same lines all the time. Because that’s how reality works, right? Anyway, yes I switched my race to Zerg. The reason why is basically because Terran got agonisingly horrible to play. I had a lot of difficulty adjusting to Legacy of the Void’s take on Terran play and the last few years have felt like smashing my head against a skill barrier I just couldn’t seem to break for whatever reason. A proper day’s practice just got harder and harder to complete, all the niggling insecurities and annoyances kept piling on each other, there's only so far one can trudge through bullshit and I guess I found my limit. On a whim I started offracing Zerg and the more I did the more I felt a strange sensation would come over me, one that I hadn’t felt for a long time. It was actually fun. Fun with Starcraft after 7 years? Who’d have thought. I’ve not been this invigorated with Starcraft for quite some time and you’ll never improve at something you can’t stand, right?
So for the last three months or so I’ve pretty much just been grinding out Zerg games almost nonstop. It’s kind of why my writing output has suffered of late, improving my Zerg skill has been far more engrossing than all sorts of alternate digital distractions. I’m not quite as good with Zerg as my Terran was but I’m getting there, it shouldn’t take too much longer. It was either switch to Zerg or throw the game down a fucking bin and get a real job. I had a real job once and it was fucking awful, so time to throw in my lot with the gribbly swarming creep spreaders and see what comes about. Perhaps it’s my Neeb moment, whereupon I become a godlike destroyer of man, or my Classic moment, whereupon I do pretty damn well for meself, my TLO moment, whereupon I do sort of ok but easily could have just stuck with Terran anyway and done roughly about as well, or my Morrow moment whereupon I flounder about for a few months before fading into obscurity, known only as someone who beat a far superior player with bullshit Reaper builds like once or something. Excitement abounds, I daresay.

I'm sure your presence with the swarm will be warmly met. Plus it will be great to have Zerg win something in Australia again! (bloody Probe, amirite?)
Good luck, keen to see how far you can take Zerg before perhaps a switch to Protoss?
