There's nothing to realize. It's not like I didn't already know that people are ungrateful for industry insight and lash out at even the most innocent perceived slight. Some people on this forum HATE being told they don't know something, thats obvious. It's telling that Reddits response to this post was far more positive than TLs was.
if it's so telling then go post your blog on reddit... you're fighting a losing battle by generalizing the entire forum, specially when you have been given the distinction of having a special icon by tl staff
To be fair having a special forum icon doesn't mean he has to be a saint or anything.
See: Rekrul See also: Roffles (and a few other "Quality Posters" that just shit post constantly)
lol comparing rekrul to tb's posts in this thread alone is a ridiculous juxtaposition. rekrul might be a sarcastic asshole at times, but he's a baller.. tb's "go fuck yourself, you're the reason no one posts here" comments are a bit far flung from the "dry humor" he tries to explain it as
special icons mean that staff thinks you're baller and worthy of recognition... posting straight up banbait is pretty questionable
This sums up how I feel. TB is justified in being mildly offended by the naive question, and if he wants to communicate in a passive aggressive manner, that's fine too. It is pretty clear he was offended by the question -- to the point of writing this blog at least.
I'm a big fan, not just of what he does for SC2, but I think he does great things for PC gaming -- period. I did find it pretty disappointing that the "go fuck yourself" and the broad generalization insulting this entire community are considered perfectly fine regardless. It's not gonna stop me from being a fan.
But he's right about this being a major reason why known figures rarely post or have stopped posting entirely on the forums and that's not because they are posting in a "aggressive" tone. Him telling that person to fuck off doesn't change that.
Also, TL have alway given more leeway to community figures, it was even stated and often quoted from the rules (not sure if it's changed but I assume it's still in the forum rules). People talk about Idra's ban without mentioning he got a way with A LOT before they actually decided to ban him. As long as the mods think TB have a point with what he's saying or that he's providing relevant information and contributing to the scene, then they'll largly accept him calling a few rude people idiots.
LIfe isn't fair and neither is this forum, people should learn to deal with that.

just because tl may or may not agree with TB shitting on the forum doesn't mean that i can't comment on him making a mockery of what it means to have a unique icon.

Idra's ban singular? He was banned/warned heaps and barely ever got away with anything, especially after sc2 came out.
All these threads about/with TB just make me depressed. The problem is nobody wants to give anyone else the benefit of the doubt, instead people just assume the worst. In my opinion (most) people with negative reactions to this blog are merely disapproving or concerned, not ignorant vengeful flaming neckbeards and TB is an outspoken kind of a guy, not this massive flaming asshole he's been made out to be. And especially in such a public and stressful position that he's in, I'm sure wanting to give some rebuttal to the critics is only natural. It's just sad the way that any discussion about TB or Axiom is a lost cause nowadays, the way the battle lines are drawn between the haters on both sides : /

TB: We don't win anything, but we have a youtube channel. Oh, and Crank streams.
Again, compare to teams like LG-IM, SlayerS, they won stuff.. (a shit ton of stuffs) and where are they today? Results aren't key to survive/profit as a team anymore (and probably never was)
Well, I locked this because I'm not sure what the point is going forward because you're frankly just being an asshole to everyone. Your OP will still be there and another mod can unlock if they disagree.
