2 wins, 3 losses. Not bad for 2 years off.
I dearly missed the magic that is StarCraft. When I first started playing, I would tense up and freak out and eventually relegated myself to watching tourneys and Funday Monday. Now? Not nearly so much. My mindset is more focused and steeled and positive. It may have been me, it may be the current community, it may be the time spent elsewhere. But I'm now confident in moving forward with it.
Pro? No, lol. I like my current job. This is a fun hobby for me on the side. We'll just see where it goes from here.
B.net: Anax #1371 . Hit me up.

I've been thinking of doing the same, but I couldn't really start playing until after I get off work, so around midnight. I'll see if I can't get on tonight and hit you up :D
|
I'm off for the night. Less time tomorrow, but I'll squeeze in some games.
Think I hit a snag. I've switched to Protoss when I used to main as Terran. There's a certain simplicity to 'Toss that I like, but losing 6 games in a row (last guy was a Silver?!) is depressing and tells me I'm doing something wrong.

I play toss, so if we're on at the same time I could give you my perspective, warped as it may be.

May I suggest some fine cheeses? There is quite a good selection in the "Protoss Book of Bullshit".

Sentry-heavy play with Immortals and Stalkers for support and the occasional Warp Prism to boot? I'm more of a 1a kind of guy, lol, but Zealot-Immortal-Tempest hasn't been too productive for me lately. I should try that to improve my micro though, 'cause I think I can macro well enough for the time being.

You all could storm me pretty quickly. I'm not immortal, you know.

I don't have a build I just do whatever. nexus first into 1/1 sentry immortal stalker at like 11mins. 3 immortals and a warpprism though 2 immortals is probably better for an earlier timing

The good news is I'm playing a lot more and I'm excited to continue playing.
The bad news...
I've won two games since my placement matches last weekend. One was against a Terran who said he was busy for several minutes of the game, and the other was a Terran who accidentally left his race selection on Protoss, and I almost lost my proxy 2-gate cheese against him until finally winning at 20 minutes. Since that, it's been 10 near-straight losses.
I've thought for awhile that Gold was where I was supposed to be (too bad for Plat, too fast for Silver), but now I'm not so certain.... ;_;

There was a while where I was playing mostly diamonds a few years back, right when I was getting ladder anxiety type shit, and to try to relieve that I'd offrace on a smurf. I could not for the life of me beat a gold Z as T (my main race is P), even after 50ish games as T! You're switching race, and coming off a long break? Good gravy, I wouldn't even think about where you want to go skill-wise until you really get comfortable with several playstyles and just have a bunch of fun.
That seems to be what you're doing anyways, I just want to make sure you don't get down on yourself :D

My current strategy is to quickly tech up to Charge-lots, supplement with Immortals and ground upgrades, and protect the skies with Phoenixes.
Things I struggle with: - Not forgetting to scout with Observers. -_-' - Integrating HotS units with my normal comps. - Knowing when to expand. - Knowing what times to attack. - Knowing how to attack. - Defending against harassment and early aggression. - Micro.
Things I'm improving at: - Macro. - APM. - Constantly keeping up with Chrono Boost.
It's possible that the biggest issue I suffer from is having a spectator's eye, not a player's. During this 2-year hiatus, I watched but didn't play. Transitioning into the hot seat doesn't recollect for me the right information at the right time.

Won 4 games in a row. ^_^ Last guy was a Diamond who tried cannon rushing me. I spotted his Probe at 1:30 and he DC'ed, lol.

I'm getting better. 2-1 for the past three days. All losses are to Terrans.
Things I’m getting better at:
- Actually attacking before 13:00. - Taking out greedy enemy expansions safely. - Getting Robo and Observer(s) sooner. - Expanding. - Scouting.
Things I need to improve:
- Nailing down Warp cycles; I employ mostly Gateway comps and need to learn to constantly, consistently warp in more units. - Citadel and Forge upgrades; getting sooner, Chrono Boosting more often, and not leaving them idle. - Concentrating on macro; money’s still too high. - Expanding sooner. - Continuous Probe production. - Defending against drops. Terran attacks in two places? I’m hosed. T_T

I can outmacro a Zerg, I can outmicro a Protoss, but my vs. Terran stinks. I need help very badly. Widow Mines/MMM + Stim drops are brutal. ;_;
