Unless the 720p/1080p is free, there's not reason not to buy it if you have the money and want to watch it. Also the twitch vod system isn't the best, but it's no reason not to buy it. If I'm wrong on any of this, anyone's free to correct me.

I bought it during WoL gsl and it was worth it because I was super into sc2. If you want to see Starcraft gsl does it best.

So far they do the terrible job. http://www.twitch.tv/exp/profile/pastBroadcasts Spoilered VODs without an option to watch the whole thing. I don't get why they delete the "big" one.
@OP If you can watch it live most of the time, then go for it I suppose. If not, then it mostly depends if you find watching VODs fun.
In fact, when they announced the change not long ago I thought about buying a ticket too, but I can't really watch GSL live very often. And for me even 1 day old VODs are worthless, I'm not one of those people who would watch some old games just because they were great either, so it's either live or liquipedia (for results obviously) for me.

I can't, really; it runs at, like, 2:00 A.M. for me local time. I'd rather be able to come home, cook up some dinner, pick one or two of the best games according to TL, and be content. VODs have been my saving grace for over two years now because I only watch Finals live, and even then I have to stay up till the late night hours because I live East-Midwest U.S.
You've gotta understand that I'm a casual spectator at best. I haven't been following the scene due to work and other interests. I like the great games the best, and they remain timeless to me. Highlights are good, but the whole match provides enough context for me, without any "waste" games that I'm not interested in when watching live.

Yeah I bought it because I can and there's no way I could watch it live. I'd be pissed if I ended up buying it later and missed out on a discount too.
