BIG BIG update

Techgaming.tv is live!

Users are now allowed to use everything on the website, such as requesting buildorders form the request button, contact me if you they have questions regarding coaching/SC2 Mirage or feedback on the site.

This is an important day for the tool, becuase now i can focus 100% on adding buildorders. It will get easier for me to add new buildorders once people start requesting them as well.

Is the website done? not even close! But it is usuable and that's what i wanted to achieve this weekend. There are plenty of cosmetic issues to take care off and ofcourse once there is a good selection of builds available, i need to start working on the added features such as replay downloads and personal notes on buildorders. As soon as i have a decent amount of buildorders in, i will add in a layer to register and replay on buildorders. At the moment i dont want to add it in just yet because if there is anything wrong with the registering or anything, i will hav to cut into my time to figure out what is wrong, and that will hurt my ability to add in buildorders.

so.......
GOGOGO use the site and let me know what i can do for you if you have any questions

Made a BIG step for archiving and sorting the buildorders. I now have cut out about 80% of the work involved with it and found a way to export the buildorders to a web ready file that any up to date browser can see.

1. Completely overhauled the website and am now using this test server as a template for my own domain as well.
2. Named my buildorder tool SC2 Mirage
3. Tinkered out with the website a bit so that the site is not only about Mirage but has the capabilities to become much more.
4. Dropped dead on the couch because i worked for the last 18 hours straight on this ( xD )

Was quite busy trying to get the flowcharts setup on my own newly created domain and started to mess around with wordpress a little bit. So far it seems i still have to manually add in all the buildorders. This will probably something i will have to figure out once i can hire someone that knows more about php and all this stuff.

So i had to redirect the flowcharts to a seperate directory for now to keep it up and running. So i updated the posts link to the new link

16-06-2013 update
+ Show Spoiler +

Stopped working on the tool for a few days because i was getting tunnelvision and started to work on it today again for an hour or two.

1. Remade the timeline to have a better visual on the time itself.
2. Made all the build times future proof by using a time scale i.e. 1 second is 5 pixels
3. Added horizontal/vertical anchors to 'lock' the chart into place without me eyeballing it
4. Locked the x and y for all blocks so that they are all grouped together nicely.
5. Created a replay template on how to add buildorders to the charts quicker.

for a new view of the template look at : New Template

At this point in time i could really apreciate any feedback on the readability and overview of the buildorders itself, since once i start churning out builds in a more constant timing, redoing anything because people don't like it would take me weeks.

leave any feedback through a pm to me on the teamliquid forums, or a reply to my blog post or reddit post.

Added in the second part of the 2-2-2 TL guide

which can be found here: Stargate 2-2-2

Both of the 2-2-2 variations can be accessed from the forge fast expand : Forge Fast expand

Started to change the look of the tool and seperated the tool into a more "fancy clickthrough" version and a overview version. both which you can access from the main site.

Added in a buildorder that was taken from the barely 30 minute old Teamliquid.net strategy team that posts awesome guides!
go check that one out here: 2-2-2

Extra update for 11-06-2013

+ Show Spoiler +
I've reworked the layout of the builds inside the flowchart so that extra notes etc are not scattered around anymore. Now above the middle timeline i have buildings to build and general notes, below the middle timeline i have macro notes and units to build. Also added in the second 2-2-2 build with the new cleaned up build overview.

I did that to clean up the look and give the build itself a better overview. for an example look at
Cleaned up build order

Cleaned up alot my global resources ( racial building/unit build times etc ) so the format is now consistent across the board.

Added in alot more buildorders and therefor the protoss buildorders are all done now. meaning a basic set has been added for all Protoss matchups.

fixed some build time problems where i didn't have the correct build time displayed.
if you notice a mistake in the buildorders please do contact me so i can fix it.

Hellow fellow TL folks.

So where do i start, i had a crazy idea about 2 months back about the current strategy section and how buildorders were presented. And one of the things i really disliked is, that's it's really hard to keep track of a buildorder in a huge wall of text while also playing a game, whether it be versus an A.I. or in a real ladder/custom game against a real opponent.

So i started to think, and think i did!

"Now what did you make" i hear you say. Well this is what i made:

FLOWCHARTS

Flowcharts are generally used in a business enviroment for seeing different flows of processes and an overview of simultaneous processes.

Current working builds that are implemented as a flowchart are:

PvP 4 gate rush
PvP Sase's 2 gate agressive expand
PvT 1 gate expand

Now how does this apply to Starcraft 2 and buildorders?

A simple buildorder in the fashion we are now used in seeing gives you a basic understanding of the build, but lacks visualization and overview.

This tool i'm currently developing is a work in progress and not yet finished at all. In it's current form it's only that, a visual buildorder right in front of you instead of following numbers. Once the tool works as i want it to, and i have a private webpage where i have more HTML/PHP/SQL options available to me, i will start adding in more extra features.

Some of the features which i want to implement are:

1.Personal notes on buildorders
2.Able to download replays from the buildorder itself
3.See deviations in buildorder + replays to back the deviation up ( i.e. you scout something different then you expect, then you should change x and y in your build and proceed differently )
4.Export to PDF function
5.Browser support so that you can use all flowcharts functions like zoom in / zoom out without using the webviewer that i currently use.
6. Upload function for replays to attach to buildorders for your own use.
7. Good colour coding scheme suited for everyone
8. Create a webbased tool for people that create buildorders to make it and upload it

Again i say this is a work in progress, but i do apreciate all the feedback i can get to improve upon this tool.

looking forward to all your feedback :

Links works fine for me, altho i did hear of firefox having trouble with it, and not really sure what causes that. Maybe you can try with a different browser?

it's a flash based applet so it needs your flash player updated, but not really sure what else can cause that.

Could be possible if you are on a commercial used wifi that .swf files are blocked, but in that case youtube should not work either

Separating it into BW and SC2 would be awesome too. Heck, this could even become a Wiki thing that TL.net can import into a post. Make a wiki page on a build order with this chart included -> link wiki page/chart -> ??? -> Profit.

to be honest i really think this can replace the liquipedia till a certain extend since it's not regularly updated.

I'm not sure if BW is a smart choice to incoporate, but if people really want to have it in, i guess it's not that hard to fill up once the structure is setup
