It might be hard for me to look at this rationally right now, but let me make a pros/cons list here of him
Pros
- different major student, get to meet new people outside of my classes
- cool with gaming
- socializes with a lot of people
- has a fridge
Cons
- Smells......so bad because he doesn't shower.
- was on my computer at god knows when in the morning doing homework. I was half awake when I saw him but I freaked the fuck out. He came too close to my computer. I have no password and all of my accounts names/passwords are autosaved in firefox so he could have basically gone into anything and fucked shit up.
- socializes excessively to where the point he is doing homework mere hours before the next class. I see this leading to a not good place. I hope he finds friends to study with
- says confusing phrases that often mean something else that he is trying to say
- does not know boundaries of the room. I gave him a brownie yesterday so he would shut the fuck up. He does not. He asks for more. At this point I just stop trying and move onto a different topic
- does not drink a lot of water, but when he DOES drink water, its from the water bottles that I recycle and fill up. He then throws the water bottles away.
I guess I will put up with him because a happy room mate makes a lot of your problems go away. I REALLY need to find something for the smell though....

- Tell him to take a fucking shower. If he doesn't, chuckle to yourself that all his socializing won't get him laid.
- Put a password on your computer. Problem solved.
- Not your problem, who cares.
- Even more who cares.
- Maybe just tell him to shut the fuck up. That's not the message I would have gotten from being gifted a brownie.
- Tell him to get his own water bottles.

what i want to know is how do you put up with sleeping in a room with another person, especially one that you recently met?

He was yelling at me about how he thought it was stupid that I considered my computer better than him. Yes I straight out told him you are not allowed to sit on my chair or be anywhere NEAR it because I don't trust you. He went off ranting for like 5 minutes about all of the smallest things that I did.
The worst part about arguing with ignorant people is that they fail to comprehend anything but their own view. I seriously doubt I would win an argument against him because in his mind, I will always be the bad guy if I choose to do that

We have a whiteboard and I have a message for my room mate that says "fuck you". I was being completely serious. I don't think he got the tone of the message or else I feel like he would have been a lot more offended than he was.

this hurts my brain. things he does bug the shit out of you, but shit you do can't bug the shit out of him? and if it does he's ignorant and stubborn? that sounds awfully ignorant and stubborn.
you realize if you don't fix this shit, you are going to be LIVING with an ENEMY. and it'll be your own fault.

1. Tell him to shower.
2. Put a password on your computer.
3. Don't worry about his social life, as long as it doesn't negatively impact yours (e.g. as long as you can go to sleep when you need to).
4. Just ask him to clarify his speech and learn what he's saying.
5. Talk to him about boundaries and force him to understand.
6. Tell him that recycling is cool yo. Or just hide your own water and make him buy his own shit.
Also, regarding one of your pros ("different major student, get to meet new people outside of my classes"), sometimes it's nice to have a roommate with the same major so that you guys can connect on an intellectual level, study together, and have the same classes/ schedule. Not always, but just throwing that out there for the future in case you want to find a new roommate.
Good luck. Try not to let the little things get to you, but don't let him walk all over you either. Keep in mind it's your place too. (It is, after all, a relationship.)

The brownie thing.. Is that a thing? Like if you give someone a brownie then that's some sort of subtle gesture to make them stfu? I wasn't familiar with this.
No real input here though. Blogging and leaving offensive messages in writing is clearly the ideal way of dealing with this situation.

There is a lot of good advice in this thread (albeit some of it is hidden within sarcasm) so far. The only thing I think I can contribute right now is this: either man up and talk to him about the things that bother you and why they bother you, or find a new roommate. The small things might seem small now but they WILL eat away at you and they WON'T get better if you don't address them. Remember that you don't necessarily need to convince him to see things your way as long as you convey why they make you upset.
Having all that said, you certainly need to consider whether or not you should be upset by some of the things you're complaining about. In my opinion, only about half of your "cons" have any merit to them. As it was said earlier, welcome to real life where you have to learn to adapt to the fact that not everyone is the same as you.

I left the brownie because I bought a sandwhich, 3 brownies, pudding, and animal crackers with cream. I felt bad for being a dick the other day by giving him a bad high(even though it was half his fault) so I gave him the brownie.
So far though its been 2 days in a row that hes kept me up. Hopefully this wont become a thing

I agree wtih this, BUT, some of those things directly influence his lifestyle, so don't let that continue, other than that, make your OWN changes rather than make HIM change. Its much easier that way.

I see no problems. My last roommate was naked wearing nothing but a towel 90% of the time he was in the room, jacked off more than frequently, locked the room while I was in the bathroom, got into fist fights in the room, and god knows what else. I didn't give a fuck cause its temporary and all I was forced to do there is sleep.
