Old Open World 2d RPG Eludes Me

kafkaesque Germany2006 Posts August 07 2012 18:23 GMT #1 Hey guys, I've been googling for an hour now and decided to ask the well versed gamers of TL. I remember playing an RPG-game that had a really vast open world, you could do whatever you want in theory, but if you wandered off too far, you'd find enemies that would assrape you. There were a boatload of quests, although not a "storyline" per se. Sounds like Morrowind? Yeah, but it was isometric, the graphics looked like a mix between Torchlight and Ultima Online. It didn't look bad, but really basic. It's been a while, but I remember stealthing around to dodge some mean enemy, although I might have dreamt that. I also think I only controlled one hero. Things google yielded it was not: Arcanum Runescape Possibly it was even indie, that would account for why it is so hard to find. Oh, it was definitely OFFLINE, no MMO. Any clues, guys?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't NES, however, since the graphics weren't that bad. Might be 5 years old, might be 10, I can't be certain. Googling "open world isometric rpg" yields surprisingly little.
