I've already said I've made a thousand dollars off this game, could make a thousand more if I sell what I have left.

You've made a thousand dollars off a game that only just came out... so why are you complaining?

It's pretty obvious you're lying.

Lol, I'm not lying. And I'm complaining because the game is heading down a road where you'll have to bot to keep up or get extremely lucky with drops. I said I made a thousand dollars, and I did. I could even screenshot the transactions for you, but I don't really feel it necessary to spend the time to essentially try and boost my ego through validating my own earnings to some stranger. There's no reason for me to lie here.

But that's not to say I will be able to in the future, since gold is inflating and botters are rising. With the implementation of the RMAH there's pretty much no way to make sure 1 million gold stays above 10 dollars per. And the game didn't only "just come out". It's been out for 3 weeks, plenty of time to earn that much money legitimately.

The only people who thought you needed ultra-gosu gear to play through Hell in D2 where the people who used D2JSP. Anyone with half a brain can get through D2 Hell with a well spec'd character and the kind of gear purchasable with a handful of perfect gems. I'm pretty sure I remember someone getting all the way through Hell with an Amazon equipped with a cracked bow, for example.

That is quite true. The last time I played d2 I wanted it to be hard so I played offline and went all the way to act 4 hell with a sorceress who used no ice or lightning spells except SF and teleport. That means I pretty much couldn't touch the hordes and hordes of fire immune or resistant enemies in the game except by piggybacking on my merc's dps. Obviously I didn't trade with botters... or with anyone, and yet if I'd had a real build I would have cruised through effortlessly.

If you don't feel it necessary to boost your own ego then why mention your earnings at all? They're irrelevant to the point you're trying to make. I'm pretty sure you're lying. Anyway, like I said, it's irrelevant to your supposed point.

The game, as far as fun goes, will be just fine.

EDIT:

Being "poor" in Diablo games isn't a problem because the games are fun even without the best items. I never botted in D2. I never bought items. I never used D2JSP. I sometimes traded perfect gems or runes for items, but that's about it. It's completely viable to finish the game without those types of item and the same is true of D3. Unless you're too retarded to take advantage of decent gear (and I've seen a few people with much better gear than me play far worse due to sheer stupidity), the "economy" crashing won't be a problem for the amount of fun you're having...

... unless you only derive fun from the game due to the economy, in which case you're kinda missing the point IMO.

EDIT2:

I actually hope the "economy" crashes. The game doesn't need it to be fun, botters will be deterred from trying to exploit the game, gold farmers will be deterred as well, and hackers will have less reason to hack. It would be glorious.

And if I posted my transactions for you, you have to write a blog about how I'm the greatest man on earth and it has to be at least 500 words. Deal or no deal? If you really are sure I'm lying then you'll accept the terms, right? Man up or don't accuse people of shit. Not surprising to me that someone who has no idea about the economic side to the diablo series would doubt me. I also posted WHY I mentioned it in what you quoted. It's very apparent to me that you don't bother to read. I won't bother telling you again as you'd probably miss it anyway.

If the only point to playing d2 was so that you could finish hell, then you wasted 60 dollars I'm sorry. But believe it or not, there's this thing called getting items for the sake of getting items. There's also uber tristram. Did you do that? Do you even know what that is even?

Earlier today, an item dropped in Act 4 inferno.

It was worth enough that now I can buy a Playstation 3.

I am pleased.

It doesn't feel like work for most people. I know I'm having fun (when I'm not angry, which happens in all games). Money's only a nice bonus, because if this were my job, my time would be greatly under appreciated.

Yes, I did. And yes, it is possible with gear that is obtained "honestly". It obviously takes a little longer than getting a character through Hell, and it obviously requires that you have a group of people capable of teaming together properly for an extended period of time, but it is certainly possible.

If you can get to the end of the game and experience the game to it's fullest without requiring ridiculous gear/items/gold, then you can extract all the fun from that game without requiring ridiculous gear/items/gold. Some people find showing off fun. That's cool, they can go ahead and do that. Some people find farming over and over fun, which is also cool. I just want to kill a load of monsters with my friends and enjoy the magic of finding awesome items every now and again, I don't want to manipulate some pseudo-economy within a videogame... and I imagine most of the players who play for fun are more like me than you.

"A little longer". Yeah, I'm guessing you've never even tried it/seen it just heard about it. I like how you mention that you'd like to get all the fun and experience in the game in its entirety with your friends while not farming over and over again because "that's not fun for you". Yeah, let me know when you do uber tristram with just your friends with no trading. The amount of farming you'd have to do is ridiculous even to some of the most hardcore fans. The amount of "awesome" items you find are so low, and there's not even a guarantee you'd use them. But yeah, you can get through hell, just as you can get through hell in diablo 3, but good luck in inferno. I mean, the concept is essentially the same, except I guarantee you'll be farming the same act over and over much longer than I or any other person who uses the AH will. What's the difference in your eyes? That you grinded harder than I did to get to the same act?

What was this argument even about anyway? I write a blog about the diablo 3 economy and you come in and say you don't give a shit because it doesn't relate to you because you don't intend to do the entirety of inferno? A blog in which included changes that would have benefited casual players such as you who want to play with friends and find items on their own (as drop rates are affected by the items on the AH) Or was it to just accuse me of lying for no apparent reason?

Ah here's a post where I can maybe manage to decipher some reason. So what's the point in your eyes? To go through the same game except on a higher difficulty where the only real challenge is that you don't get unlucky with dumb affixes? Damn dude, I was missing the point all along! I guess I'll just refund the money I've gained cause it just ruins the experience for me. Who the hell would want to be in my position anyway instead of being stuck in act 1 inferno for weeks with my friends? I mean, you're definitely right, that's the true point of diablo.

Challenging? What in your mind makes you think that the game is challenging rather than a gear grind? Can you dodge vortex prison desecrate? Is skill to you being able to outrange and kite bad affix mobs for a few minutes? Despite what you think, you're gonna need gear, and you're gonna need to grind it longer than me. You haven't been past act 1 if you think you can somehow outskill luck. Again, it's not "a little" farm either, ESPECIALLY if you play with 4 people right now. Luckily for you, Blizzard listened to the whining and are nerfing acts 2, 3, 4 and making things easier for group play.

If you want to get through the game all the way through act 4 inferno it's possible yeah, it'd take about 6 months or more at this rate however. It's plausible, just not reasonable, nor fun for a lot of people. The majority of people are not "not" using the AH and getting through inferno like you think. There are a majority of people under inferno and not using the AH house though, I'll give you that.

I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that you're playing the game wrong, only trying to defend my own perspective of "getting through the game". But you're in for a rude surprise if you think it'll be as easy as getting through diablo 2 hell. Inferno is not hell, especially act 2 and beyond (assuming their nerf isn't that hard).
