Coincidentally, i gave up at top Plat/Diamond border too ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif) actually, i tend to agree with that opinion. lose a few games, get pissy, generalize to an entire community, make blog whining about it. he really should get a backbone and stop whining.

All kidding aside I've played people with over 2000 League Wins, how crazy is that.
If you hit f11 to show chat, I think u can block players by clicking the little speaker icon. Also sc2 has been out nearly 2 years, not surprising to have that many wins.

Or you could just learn how not to die to a 6pool.

This sums up what I was going to post well.

You know what, the sc2 community is made of people, which means that invariably there will be assholes, and plenty of them. IMO where sc2's community stands apart is how the high level tournament-going players treat each other, and the spirit of competition and camaraderie they share.
EDIT: basically, anywhere below those high level players, you can't exactly expect the same behavior, though they do set a good example that some try to follow.

How is it a cheap or free win?
What is the point of it? I really don't think it is (usually) to piss people off. Like any other build the reason you do it is you feel it gives you a good chance to win. I would contend that in generally the purpose of any build with the exception of people using builds for practice against certain situations.
Incident a 6 pool could also be used in the "practice" situation in order to get familiar with the build and it's execution so you know your gameplan with it going into a tournament/competitive match. Obviously 6-pool "gameplan" is to severely damage or kill your opponent but by practicing it you can improve your micro/decision making with it, decide which followups are good based on damage done, etc.
The fact that people somehow think cheese is a "free win", "cheap" or anything else is more than a little silly (this coming from someone who does not cheese). If a "cheese" build is one that gives you the best chance to win the game it is a strategically sound and perfectly legitimate decision to do so. I just don't understand people being angry at losing to cheese: either you lost because you were overly greedy (in which case it was just bad luck, can't understand someone being mad at something they couldn't control) or because you didn't control well enough to defend in which case you just flat out didn't play as well as you needed to.
I do agree with you about general BM stuff: flaming, floating buildings, raging, bullshit "excuses", etc. I think it's important to realize though that what is generally meant by community refers most often to the forums at large, especially TL. When you have an online gaming base as massive as SC2 there will always be.
To be honest though I don't understand why any of these things annoy people (okay, floating buildings yea because they legitimacy waste time). If I made someone mad enough that they feel the need to rage at me I take that as a compliment to my play if anything.

I never knew the SC2 community had this connotation of maturity/gm. In fact, I thought it was exactly the opposite and especially so at lower leagues.

Ironically enough, the only advice I can think of is: Grow up. Aside from the way others behave, your reaction seems childish to me.

Despite all of what you just said.
SC2 still has in my experience the most mature online gaming community around. That's how bad the other major ones are.

If you don't want to be cheesed, then play BW.

Losing to DT's and 6 pool is 100% your fault... nobody else's. They had a better strategy and/or better control than your detection free lack of worker control.
Be a man and learn how to stomp that shit.
I LOVE it when people try to float/spread extractors. I just get the warmest feeling inside when I picture their sad pathetic nerd faces trying to BM after they've been outmatched.

You obviously haven't wallowed in the depths that are the cesspool of D- iccup... (Not that I've been there for QUITE a while myself, but when I was that poor dumb chaos launcher-less fool...)

I'm sorry well i guess you gave it a shot though.

"BM strats" are not a lack of maturity. They are legitimate builds, esp at lower levels where they work quite well.

You are what we call a scrub. A scrub is someone who gets mad and whine whenever someone does not play the game in what you perceive as the "right way" to play said game.

You seriously were expecting good manners on the SC2 ladder/community? I mean there is plenty BM even on broodwar iccup and that is as wholesome server as it will ever get.
|
serious question, what does this have to do with the community itself? ladder assholes do not equal community.
even the cesspool self centered entitled vocal minority i do not consider part of the community i love.

It's just a game, how 'bout some maturity? 3 days, man, 3 whole days!
