But yeah, players do dumb shit, letting that get to you isn't going to make any game fun. I don't really get how 6 pools and desperation DT's are BM, but people that refuse to leave are annoying as hell xD

The game is perfect, it's the assholes that ruin it and I'd rather watch people play it than do it myself. Banshee rush is one of the most standard Terran builds, are you serious? ![]()

Wait what? So the terrans who were floating buildings to the corner and the zergs who made lots of extractors around the map weren't doing it just to prolong an already lost game but to actually try to win a base race of force a draw? If that's the case then I do not understand your frustration at all. How can you fault players for trying to win / trying to not lose? There's nothing impolite about using a play style that you do not approve of. If you do not enjoy play this game, then fine, don't play it, but don't blame your opponents for that. In ZvZ 6 pool only very rarely gets a build order win, usually it comes down to control and decision making. In ZvP the point of 6 pool is to punish Nexus first builds. If Zerg never went for early pool, Toss could just get away with making Nexus first every game. Because of the possibility of 6 pool, there's a certain risk associated with Nexus first openings. And most importantly, many players do actually enjoy using 6 pools and there's also players who enjoy playing against 6 pool.

I like what you said about the fact that it doesn't get better. Honestly, ladder is best described as a scramble. It will never be pretty. Yes, it is satisfying to have a game play out with grace and fervour and all that good shit. It's nice to play a game that didn't feel like a frantic button bashing shitstorm but rather a considered game of cards or chess or w/e. Not going to happen, ladder is an ugly climb and will always be that way.

You can't control other people, but you can control yourself. (Almost) nothing hurts you unless you let it hurt you. How does a very old man usually react to extreme childishness? Annoyed, irritated? Not really, more like, indifferent. You can train yourself to see all kinds of BM as part of the game, which doesn't get to you emotionally. Have humility and respect for your disrespectful opponents, who knows where they are at life, maybe in a more difficult situation. P.S. I hope this doesn't sound too "let's all be friends" bullshittery, more like I think it's just a reasonable outlook on what you can do to work your way up quicker and with better focus.

It really does make you feel better because you can take a step back and laugh at the person instead of getting mad about yourself.

And that's a better ratio than yesterday! Most of the builds you talk about become practically extinct in Masters since they're fairly easy to hold off once scouted. If you make that skill jump you'll find yourself enjoying way more heavy macro and harass games.

It's kind of like playing as a grey wizard. EDIT: Apparently this is not possible to do atm. Sorry I thought it was as I remember reading some thread about it..
