My main reason for putting a hold on my blog posts was because there are alot of assholes that live to put people who are trying to do something with their selves down (and putting this with the major depression I have been going through for about a year now is not a good look..)
My first blog post was to let everyone know my plans and how I intended to reach my goal. I will put the link for the post at the end of this one.
Basically, I was a Bronze Protoss player that had dreams of becoming a progamer. When I first started (im sure most of you remember this if you ever watched my stream..), I never EVER used hotkeys, I had very poor macro, no type of micro skill at all, and every single one of my builds was some type of 2 base collosus all in. I am now a Diamond Terran player that is working on becoming masters (after getting a few things straight with some of the micro/multitask trainers of course).
My main reason for switching to Terran instead of sticking with protoss was because I hated being immobile and I also disliked how slow you had to play. With terran, once you get stim and medivacs you can go harass your ass off haha.
My macro has improved DRAMATICALLY. Something I noticed about myself though that I need to get out of the habit of is, either I will macro very hard and wont do any type of aggression whatsoever, or I will be over-aggressive and not macro at all. There are some games though were I can macro and micro like a fuckin boss though...
I am planning on just macroing for now on in a majority of my games though simply because my macro is not amazing. Its okay if I focus on it but if im trying to micro, I will easily float 600-800 minerals. I also realized that I very rarely use ghosts (actually I can only think of maybe twice in which I have used them in the past year or so). Hell, most of the time I completely forget about them. My main excuse for not using them though is because I am having a very hard time doing that with my hotkey setup. I am currently changing it but atm the moment its like this:
1 - All CC's OC's and PF's
2 - All Barracks
3 - Entire Army
4 - Factories
5 - Starports
6 - N/a
7 - N/a
8 - N/a
9 - N/a
0 - N/a
^^ as you can see... its not very effective (pokemon reference)... But I am working on correcting that. lol. I feel that is what is really holding me back because I cannot effectively control my army, harass, and macro at the same time simply because of my current hotkey setup.
I am also starting to realize the importance of army positioning and target firing as they have won/lost me many games in all 3 match-ups.
My micro is bad to say the least though. I can only do the basic push-n-pull micro effectively vs archons and collosus. I am also decent at storm dodging as well (which is why I tend to forget about ghosts) but I know it wont be enough to get me to masters. I am horrible at marine splitting vs banes though (I am currently working on this as well because this has also lost me many games).
I still have my plans to attend MLG Raleigh this year and I still have the goal of reaching Top 32.
Basically I am doing this to show that hard work will get you were you want to be and I am certain that I will be where I want to be soon. I want to be on a Pro-Gaming team. I want to be the one that is being discussed on SotG about how my play is very interesting and how I am going to get far. I want to have fans one day. I want 3000+ people viewing my stream whenever I do stream because it is entertaining. Hell, I probably would decline a partnership with twitch if they offered it just to show that I want people to see me play as im not interested in money, I want to entertain. I want to win major tournies.
I understand that none of this will happen in a days time and im okay with that, I am in no rush whatsoever. I just want to be able to say I did it.
I am planning on streaming later today (Around 4pm EST) if anyone is interested in watching.
