Yeah, at one time Garfield was one of the best comics, great writing and good art style. These days we get strips like this: http://www.garfield.com/comics/vault.html?yr=2012&addr=120122
Garfield was clearly copy-pasted from the first panel to the rest of them. Must be the cheapest comic strip to produce in the world.

AND YOU MENTIONED 5 CM PER SECOND OMG! Dude that is one of my most favorite movies if not my absolute favorite. I've watched that movie 4 times, no exaggeration- 4 friggin times. All 4 times I was so immersed and in love with it that my heart literally trembles each time (I've stopped rewatching it because the sensation was too much for me to bear over and over lol). God it's just so damn good, the feelings that well up inside you when you watch is so hard to describe... like you feel for the protagonist so much, and when the events play out (no spoilers keke) you can feel the emotions that he goes through passing through you as if you were there yourself. I don't know if that's a good description, but hell it really gets me going.
Also I heard that originally the director and his wife were the ones who did the voice overs, pretty damn romantic eh?
Thank you! I have my class in about an hour now, so I'm going in for round 3. I didn't read the pages, so I don't think I'll be talking much (or maybe I will given the tangents we go on so much).
I LOVE THAT MOVIE, it doesn't beat Spirited Away for me though (seen it 13 times at least). But the movie is just utterly beautiful, gorgeous in life, emotion and feeling. I love it, though I felt more towards the females (the original and the new one he walks/scooters home with after class, especially her). I can't stop thinking about that girl and the conflicts she feels, the happiness she internalizes, doesn't want to shatter, etc. It's just so hard and great to watch, like an unwinding of your favourite candy despite how shimmering the wrapper is!
I know exactly what you mean haha!
No way, I don't believe you. That's cute as hell lol!

Why does Liz look so fucked-up? Did Liz and Jon get married?
Also, I read Jon saying "Hi lulz"

I was skimming your blog until I saw the last music... It's not fair. You made me go back to the beggining and read all...!
♥ Fat bottomed girls Haha, my bad. I should of opened with Queen. Love Queen, Freddie Mercury is just so rich in his voice, lyrics and songs. When I saw Ray I went like "Hmmm...maybe". But after Freddie "Shit! Scroll up, scroll up! Can't stop me now, bitches!!" Bwahaha, I'm sorry but the songs are more or less irrelevant
That's a shame. Since you are an 'Art' guy you should try music. Play an instrument or sing. You would realise that even when you try to make it irrelevant, music is always relevant.

5/5 Would read a blog accounting every single time you watched spirited away and the subtle differences in emotion each time 1000 words each (you've seen it 13 times!)

I stopped reading when you insulted Eurotrip. Das fuck is wrong with you? It has Matt freaking Damon as a bamf rock star who bones Scotties gf. I don't know what more you could want in a movie. Is it off yet?

I used to play the sax, trumpet and clarinet. I love music, trying to make it and probably writing the notes if I could, but I hate playing it. I hate the physical effort of blowing, the keys, etc.

Liked the movie (though I think all silly titty movies need Neil Patrick Harris in it), hated the girl.

Already wrote something on Spirited Away awhile back. Haha, I think I spent like 5 times noticing how much detail and touch the studio worked on invoking a real portrayal of a young girl (going down the steps, attitudes towards different objects, people, etc.)

Sounds like you're having a gay ol' time. I'll have to check out the 5 Centimeters movie. And maybe think about doing an acting class next semester.
Maybe it's because I've lived in southern California for 95% of my life that I'm somewhat sick of good weather and I love dark/cloudy/rainy/snowy weather, but I must say the snowy pictures look so much more delightful.
Anyways, thanks for the read.

They look delightful, but they're a bitch to walk through in. You don't know what you got until you lose it haha

It sure has gotten cold real fast. Always seems to in Canada. Though with all the snow in your pictures I'd rather be in Montreal than Toronto. The city's always filled with slush and mush and ice. Montreal looks beautiful in comparison.
I used to play the piano, it can't fit in my apartment. I miss the times when I'd go to "lesson" and just turn on his bass and drum line on the computer (i forget the program) and get lost. It was more of a jam session than a lesson, he'd give me a tune to learn every once in a while and we'd go off that and improv (i was kinda terrible at real sheet music). I'd always learn new things while playing because I learned how to experiment in the midst of action. I learned how to express myself and think on my feet about planning for the future.
you've always been such a fluent writer, torte. as i look back on a year of your blog there's so many of them, and so much writing inside each one. you seem to feel the need to write excessive quantities of highly descriptive narrative in such a high frequency of time. It's great that you're writing so many articles and finding work.

When it's not snowing, Montreal looks like a dirty pit. Brown and black everywhere, dark than soot and dirtier than mud.
Sounds like a nice teacher, why don't you go back for lessons? I enjoy learning new things through exploration as well, but I also would like to go back to what I learned and perhaps try and explore something a bit more serious, worthwhile. It's similar to cooking: learn how to cook basic stuff before you add in your own creativity, technique before unique.
I suppose I have written a lot and many blogs. Thinking back I can only remember tidbits and I absolutely hate rereading my own writing. To me, my past is what it is, a past self, someone else with similar views and ideas. While the ideas remain with me and evolve, the self it was contained within, is no longer fully myself. It's both a curse and a godsend I guess. While the writing isn't superb, it makes writing essays (especially in social sciences) 1,000x easier and almost enjoyable. I write description because I can't write action or stories, just descriptions of events or circumstances.
thanks

Happy New Year! Nice job turning it all around in your class. I'm very happy for you ^^ edit: No 2k post is gone. DT is here. <3<3<3 worth the loss of a good 2k post. It was spent on Torte's awesome blog
Also, make sure you don't let DTs sneak underneath your Guardian and into your base. Otherwise, well... I shouldn't have to say the rest . However, don't over react or they won't even suicide one mutalisk.
Interpret that as you will.
