Well, I had my ups and downs on my first week on iccup. But I ended up going 14-18 as protoss, so I'm feeling pretty damn good about that. But on my first night of brood war, something bad happened.
I was getting rolled by this one terran repeatedly doing this early marine vulture tank push early on. But my sc2 instincts told me "Hey, if you just kill his marines, he'll have nothing to shoot up!" So my next instinct was to go double stargate scout with some gateways. I even thought it would be smart if I get a +1 weapons upgrade for them! So his push comes on Fighting Spirit and I engage with my zealot dragoon and kill off all the marines! Leaving a handful of vultures and around five tanks. I then swoop in with my five +1 attack scouts and shoot at the tanks. And nothing is really happening, nothings dying. It takes me like 15 seconds to kill a tank. And by then, all my probes are dead and my friend is laughing at me.
So the lesson here is to not build scouts with +1 attack to hold off early marine tank vulture pushes. I wish I had the replay still to do a battle report style, but I forgot to save it ><.

You should try the same but with carriers. 1 base carrier is a pretty legit strat in the middle ranks even.
The Stove is where it's at. You can actually win games at the D+/C- level sometimes if the Terran doesn't see it coming - at the very least, it's quite annoying to play against since it requires more precise turret and/or mine placement and a lot of lower level sloppy Terrans can get punished for it.
Could I suggest changing races and using Siege Tanks as the counter to just about everything, well unless they make Zealots/Shuttles/DT's/Carriers/SCOUTS or Mutas/Guardians <:

Siege tanks <3 the only reason I play terran lol XD
One time you can use them for fun is BGH games against passive opponents, it's nice to mess around going straight 3stargate speed scouts.
Personally i had one game where they became useful in a very specific PvZ situation too.. i was trying to hold a ramp for a base with the only minerals left, and guardians were on the way to kill off cannons/reavers. And wow the scouts air to air is so strong and the cannons stop scourge the big weakness. I used them now and then in games from then on to hold islands better and things like that, and some later game overlord/drone hunting is nice too.
