if he's losing to over 50% of them yes it does. Idk just keep playing and tough it out. taking a break will only make you come back and feel like you are moving even slower than before and then you lose even more games. You'll come out of it eventually

Winning doesn't equate to "being better than...".

If someone is able to cheese you and win every game, that person is better than you. That being said, it's entirely possible that Z-dawg is just having some off days, and playing with some practice partners before going back to the ladder is just what the doctor ordered.

For what it's worth, I agree that if someone manages to beat me in a BO9 only by cheesing, they're better than me. However, if I lose one ladder game to cheese, there's no way to tell if they're better than me. Even if I lose one good 25 minutes game against them, sure perhaps they played better, but that's not enough to say they're the better player. Might have been an off day, might be their best MU and my worst... There are plenty of reasons. And as far as cheese goes, drooling idiots can scrub their way up to masters by 6pooling and cannonrushing, being completely aware that they're consistently beating players who would destroy them in Bo3's. I hate to sound like I'm making up excuses - perhaps I am a little bit, but my main point is that it's hard to know who's the "better player" overall. It really is. This guy who destroyed me in PvP 4 out of 5 times couldn't even dream of having my PvZ and PvT - was he a better player than me? I don't know... Doesn't seem like it to me. The person who wins over 50% of the games is always better, so if two people go 1-1 they're exactly as good as each other? That really is an implication of what you're suggesting.

I think this might be the best advice (besides my own, which is awesome) in this thread. Just focus on improving and becoming better as a player. In fact, don't even worry about where you are on the ladder-- if you work on improving your play, in time the ladder will come to reflect that.

Yeah between blazing and adebisi I got some good advice and from others too. Before the season began I was playing top 25 master players with 800-900 points and winning more often than losing. The last two days I lost to diamond players with negative win ratios in S5. So its not just playing people who are better than me and losing. I think in part it was a mental thing. And yeah cheesing means I played poorly because I couldn't hold it but that doesn't mean the other person played better. Someone finding an out of the way to scout place to put 2 gateways and then coming at my base with double 8 gate zealots doesn't constitute "skill" and being "outplayed" to me ![]()
