NicoLime? A script to read your JTV chat in-game?

I think a lot of people have trouble keeping an eye on chat while they stream. Recently I hopped onto a Japanese stream to see what they were doing and noticed that they would have text from the chat move across their stream as they played. Curious as I was I asked them in simple English what the program was.

And it was NicoLime apparently. I couldn't find much about it using Google. I found a japanese blog site with some info on it, although I didn't understand a thing and then a script to use it with JTV.

Anyone know anything else about NicoLime? I feel like it could be a very very useful tool to have. Or perhaps this may motivate someone to create such a program. What do you guys think?

so i was watching cruncher play destiny on ladder earlier and they were both streaming, some guy in chat says cross positions before either had scouted, is this really a good idea?

You got a point there. I still think it can be useful though. Let's not bash it down to quick please.

Plus stream cheating will always be around regardless. If someone in the chat decides to do things like that they can be banned. If it get out of hand then the simple solution is to disable the program. No big deal.

But if you have a good audience then you'd agree that something like this would be quite helpful and entertaining for the stream.

this is an isolated incidence (that could become more and more prevelant) as most people dont play other streamers

a streamers opponenet can always cheat by having the stream open (on a second monitor). This program adds nothing to that, except comfort.

I can't seem to figure out how to have it work with your JTV chat directly. I'm assuming that you would have to put the JTV chat script into one of the files in the nicelime msgsrv files. We're in need of a wizard to figure this out or a translated guide ;_;

EDIT: nvm I feel stupid. I got it to work perfectly.

So you download NicoLime from the japanese blog site, the link around the top right. Extract it and start up the msgsrv application. Then just install the script by hitting the big install button from the userscript page (which I missed somehow). And it should work with your JTV.

Really neat stuff, I can't wait to try this later tonight.

this seem like an embed program that take the chat and make the window always on top but unclickable. looks really useful for streamers who care about viewers

nico nico is the youtube of japan with the feature that you can put comment directly on the video fyi...

still trying to understand the website using google translation =_=

edit: after hour dig in:

you cant see chat in game, its the program that let you see the chat ON THE STREAM meaning viewer will be able to see chat or "FORCED" to see the chat while the streamer is not affected.

basicly the scheme is use SCFH DSF as your capture program, use the script to copy the chat system into a panel and make that panel run through the screen using SCFH DSF. This panel thing is supported by niconico player if you ever try to watch video on their site.

=_=!
