The problem with the SC2 Terran music is that is completely out of place compared to what is actually happening. You have the construction of tons of factories, starports, wanton descruction of life and minerals, troop movements and the like and then for the music they decided to throw in a western cowboy sounding theme? I mean wtf it just doesn't work.
At least the SC1 theme had some Sci-Fi and synth feel to it. Also, the complexity of SC2 music is not necessarily a good thing. When I listen to SC2 music, I just don't get any sense of an overarching theme, theres no memorable specific melody or anything. music writing 101 for making a memorable song is to have a freaking theme, and sc2 music just doesnt have that.

Couldn't you just rip the SC1 music and play it looped while you play SC2? Anyway, I have to agree. I never really got into BW mp but playing through campaign and the few games I did play I liked the music a lot more. I just turn off the music in SC2 now and just play my own music or podcasts while playing.

I play the terran music when I play sc2. The sad part about protoss is that we atleast had some epic bits of sound in sc1, in sc2 Iit's almost nothing.

Its funny cuz the SC2 Terran music is probably the best compared to P/Z...but it pales in comparison to BW

Definitely love the Terran BW theme over every theme out there though I gotta say they didn't do a terrible job with the new terran theme, it's actually pretty good imo.

Nah the Brood War music is just better.
I remember a long time ago when I was like 8 years old, I only had Starcraft vanilla because our copy of Brood War had disappeared or something. I believe they added in some new tracks with Brood War (for Terran, at least) and I was dying to hear them, so I would watch Korean games just to listen to the music... and that's how I got introduced to competitive Starcraft!

When I play stacraft 2 I play my starcraft BW music playlist, its so much better and (somehow) helps me game better.
However I think SC2's TERRAN theme isnt bad either. The Toss and the zerg ones are incredibly lacking from their sc1 counterparts

i hear you OP, and i didn't even play sc2

still as ppl said, terran sc2 music is still ok. toss and zerg music on the other hand...

Thank you sirs for bringing back memories. I will use this in the future.
Btw I was watching major stream yesterday and he looped the bw playlist in the background. So awesome.
