Anyway @OP: Go and play some older games. There is a lot of interesting stuff out there that you won't find nowadays.

kill denying is pretty much the worst game mechanic in any single game ever made so I fail to see how that is bad

I hope you aren't planning on becoming a game designer because there's a difference between raising the skill ceiling in a meaningful way and just adding stupid shit like kill denying. it doesn't even make sense, killing your own people?

TL has a pretty active MapleStory community if you aren't repulsed by bright lights and mushrooms.

TL really needs an ignore function, so that I can block stupid users

Unfortunately you can't ignore yourself, your persistently terrible thoughts will always be there to haunt you. sorry bud
Good retort by the way, proved that you have no counter-argument so thanks for that. Comparing games to real life, lol'd

Well, Morrowind is one of my favorite rpgs, i think i spent like hundreds of hours with that game. Or Kotor is awesome as well. Or the whole fallout series But if you would like online stuff, i found a great WoW vanila private server recently (the name is feenix), and also, what about minecraft?

Is it stupid?Yeah, so was lack of smartcasting/MBS in BW, yet he is right about one thing, it raises the skill ceiling. Is it meaningfull? For competitive purposes it is. However LoL and Dota/Hon(the last two are very very similiair) while 3 games of the same genre(MOBA) are really really different, and all can be played at a competitive level and are hard to master.
Ugh Going offtopic, my bad:
Pokemon is always a good timesink(no joke), there is Diablo 2 if you can stand the graphics(it is a very very good game). There are alot of decent dungeon crawlers(not topnotch but decent) Divine Divinity(and Beyond Divinity) and Torchlight come to mind.

Well what sucks is that it gets to a point where you can't just relax and play, because there's so much to do in the game

Comparing games to real life, lol'd First, you have to give some arguments which you didn't. You said it's stupid, nothing more. And you said it makes no sense, killing your own units. Why does it make no sense then? It happened in real life, so it can happen in games as well. And even if we ignore the real life thing, it makes sense because it serves a purpose, to deny your opponent the exp.
