Reflecting on the bronze league I feel it was a crap shoot. Most games were just played against poor players, of which I used to be and still am obviously, but to the point where if I watched the replay I realized they just didn't do much period. Some players had an APM of 12 while my was now around 50 or 60 steadily. The game was just to easy, and if they were able to deter my first attack they couldn't hold out much through the mid-game as I expanded like crazy and macroed up. If that wasn't what I was facing then chances are I was facing a cheeser. I hate cheese, but honestly I think it's been a good thing over all. It's forced me to become a decent scouter (always send my scout on 9 now) and look for certain things, forcing to me to count drones, look for the early forge or a 2 rax opening. And for that I'm greatful. If that wasn't who I was facing then I found I was facing someone who played a solid game against me and they tended to be Silver or Gold league players.
Now I want to focus on learning to openings to my game. When I should 13 hatch, or 13 pool. Which matchups are best for which openings. Which maps should I play certain play styles on. I'd also want to start learning a second race. Terran primarily, I always enjoyed them but my heart has always been part of the Swarm as it were. I need to be better during the mid game, better at larvae injects and creep spread. Also I feel the mid game can be very chaotic and I don't want to get "lost" or "confused" as to where my units are etc. I'm just very excited to put the bronze league behind me and begin to seriously refine the basics and learn the ins and outs of macroing.
As always, still looking for a practice partner and coach if anyone is up to it. I'm on the NA server.
Thanks for reading.
