Minus the math competition, I've had good time at San Francisco and Palo Alto over the past few days. Sucks though that it rained for the most part.

Palo Alto journey began the day before the Stanford Math Tournament. We hit the nearest sushi place, which had no customers in the previous years. Guess what? It had customers. Better yet, it had disco balls, flashy lights, and smoke system. These only activated when people got drunk.

Funny how the person at the front checked the IDs, yet our math team ate there (7~8th graders included).

On the day of, we went to a Korean restaurant at Palo Alto, except it was fusion of Korean-American style. I personally didn't like it because the food was too sweet. The Caucasians liked it though.

The day after the tournament, we hit San Francisco. I forgot which train station we took off at, but it was near AT&T Park. From there, about 36 people walked all the way to Chinatown, just in time for... late lunch (took about good 1 hour walk).

I personally thought the walking wasn't that bad until we decided to hit the Lombard street. First, we went to the bayside of the Lombard street, where you can see the Bay from the top of the hill.

From there, we all decide to walk to the other end, where the famous 'omgwtfcurve' streets are.

Absolute Hell. Took us about 20 minutes. 5 minutes downhill 15 minutes uphill. We did eventually get there, but everyone was exhausted.

And then, we decide to walk down to the fisherman's wharf. Everyone's tired at this moment, as people start crawling (almost) down the streets of San Francisco. In the end, however, we were all treated with Ghirardelli ice cream store, so it worked out. And of course, we took the bus back to the station.

Here are few photos that I took (my camera went out of battery sometime because I forgot to charge it before leaving the hotel. GG). When I get more photos, I'll upload them with more descriptions.

Hmm... apparently some people do not get the joke *glares*

The streets are wider here... much better than NYC

AT&T park is pretty far from Chinatown... that must've been a long walk. And where did you go that could fit 40 people? Chinatown restaurants dont have that kind of space unless you have a reservation or wait really really long. Or did you just buy stuff from a bakery? (Good stuff)

We broke up into smaller groups for the lunch. Even then, our group couldn't get some dim sum cause the lines were huge everywhere, and we had limited time.

Ha ha hahhh, you were over around my territory, huh? The west coast isn't as rowdy as NYC in the east, but how'd you like it in Cali? Not too bad, I hope? Although it sucks that you had to visit while it was raining like hell here recently, bad timing. It's definitely nicer when it's sunny, a million times nicer. Fisherman's Wharf is definitely a better tourist spot than Lombard Street though. And the SF Chinatown sucks, imo. Even my Chinese friends agree with me.

And nice to see that you did a little Hite advertising around. Love it.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see at the top that you said that you mostly enjoyed your time. What I meant to ask was, would you come here again, and how does SF compare to NYC?

You must have gone to Miyake for the sushi place... that place is pretty awful -_-. It's honestly only used when groups of pple are trying to get trashed via sake bombs.

As for your SF train station, probably the Embarcadero Bart station.

Proper Korean food could be found about 40 minutes south from Stanford down El Camino Real.

There is this Korean Tofu place like 10 min from Stanford on El Camino.
At least it was 3 years ago lol, haven't been to PA in a long time.

there are korean tofu places all over the Bay Area in general... I've been to at least 4.

EDIT: Also, if you're interested, the train station you used was the 4th and King, about a 10 minute walk from AT&T. I communted daily to San Fran for 3 weeks over the summer.

Please say your comment about street width is underplaying everything else awesome of that picture!!. There are so many more interesting things to comment on in the photo than the size of the road T_T

I just find it sad that the point of the picture was to comment on the road size
