I'm recovering from what I hope is my worse illness of '11, full on three day fever and cough-a-thon. Had some amazing Robitussin-induced SC dreams but aside from that it has been pretty hellish. I really do intend to post these on Thursdays but the universe seems to be conspiring for it to be pushed to Friday. We'll see.
This week the robot voices are back! I've always liked songs with digitally produced voices and they seem to be getting more common on electronica albums these days. Maybe some sort of reaction or counterpoint to the silly popularity of over the top autotuned vocals in radio rap and r&b? Or maybe robots are just awesome.
The mix starts off with kind of serious and dark idm and dubsteppy tracks, mellows out, gets almost poppy and then finishes off funky and playful. I like to think of it as the robots coming to terms with, accepting and finally celebrating their crushing victory over humanity.
Please enjoy!
