Hey there TLers!
This week's mix is for when you're staying up late studying or working on something. Not those stressful, last minute, deadline in the morning nights but when you're inspired, at peace and in the zone. Everything is feeling great, your ideas are fresh, things are falling into place and you just keep going until the morning light starts to fade in. You finish and crash on your bed exhausted but full of accomplishment and satisfaction. Damn I love those nights.
The structure of the mix is night falling calmly, a slow and steady buildup of energy and positive momentum with a few moments of true brilliance, a blissful leveling off and then the sun coming up.
My regular listeners know the drill: tracks are mostly idm and downtempo with a couple hiphopish beats sneaking in, ranging from the early 90's to late last year. I'm really happy with the transitions I found on this one, everything fit together quite well.
Hope you enjoy!

Excellent. I enjoyed last week's mix quite a bit; probably listened to it all the way through 5 or more times.
And btw, the boc track you ended with is one of my favorites. despite its simplicity i often play it on my guitar very good song to end with.

Glad you liked last week's, it always makes me feel good to hear my stuff holds up to repeat listening. For this mix is started off collecting tracks with obvious day/night/sleep/awake titles and I knew almost right away I'd be ending on that track. You should youtube a boc guitar session sometime, a quick search shows me your competition on there would be pretty weak.

Was it the King of Woolworth's track (@21 mins or so) that had you thinking cheesy? I did debate a bit about putting that one in. In the end I decided to leave it in but it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear it messed up the tone of the mix for some people. But if your girl liked it that's all that really matters, right?

You should check out the full album, Hybrid Device's self titled on Shadow Records from 2001. Not a bad track on it, fantastic chillout downtempo.

Quiet night by quetzal was definitely pretty cheesy lol, but I think it did set the mood pretty well. The king of woolworths track didn't quite fit in, but it was catchy enough to get stuck in my head afterwards without me realizing where I'd heard it

Ahh yeah Quiet Night. I guess I don't think of it as that cheesy because of they way it fits it Quetzal's album, which I was super addicted to for a while. I also had a super hard time finding anything that would transition well out of the Hybrid Device track because if fades out to cricket sounds. Briefly toyed with the idea if an all tracks-with-cricket-sounds mix but didn't have nearly enough tracks. Plus it would have been so silly.
