Sorry Victor Von Doom fans, Music blog!

'Doomstep' is a word someone made up in some youtube video to describe LORN! A US producer who makes awesome tunes with a style that is mostly related to dubstep but has quite a few different influences. Mostly dark and quite deep.

Its great music if you have to work on something and you can't stop. Last year when I was going to have my final presentation for design class I slept for about 6 hours in 5 days. This music helped a lot lol

doomstep my ass, this isn't dark at all, and it really has much more hiphop influences than dubstep ones. That said, its quite nice and I like it.

EDIT: If anything should be called doomstep...(which it really shouldn't, more tiny genres are just annoying)

Yeah Lorn is great! Flying Lotus has been batting 1.000 on the artists he has picked up on his Brainfeeder label and Lorn fits right in with all the LA post-dilla-dubstep-hop Low End Theory sound. I saw him a few months ago there - good vid of it here: http://vimeo.com/12935689. Lorn is on around 6:45, he's got a ways go to in his stage show but his set was still sick. Hahah dont worry. I just thought doomstep was an interesting word to try and describe him. Not trying to coin a new genre lol. I guess it's more applicable to his song 'army of fear' etc. The feeling I have with the word doom fits those kind of songs better than the ones you posted sob3k, but its subjective anyway so lets not care.
