This blog will be my adventure into the wonderful starcraft galaxy. I have heard reports that this area has a fondness for a specific dairy product, but I don't like to pay attention to things like that.
Now for some SUPER interesting history, because I'm sure you're all dying to know!
I played Starcraft on and off (mainly off ) for the past few years. Needless to say, I was bad. Actually, bad is being generous, I was atrocious. On PGTour I had something like 2 wins (I don't know how!) and 70 losses. It was at that point I decided that I should move on and try other things. I was and still am a Terran fan.
However! SC2 is a whole new game. Auto mining, MBS, mass unit selection. Hooray! I can play without having to focus on 100 things at once.
I bought SC2 on release day and just this minute played my first match. Yeah I know, all this time without playing. There's a reason for that. I get extremely anxious when playing 1v1 competitively. Ladder = competitive for me.
So I thought "Hey, I'll make a blog and it'll give me a good incentive to play some games and let the good folks of TL marvel at my amazing talent"
So here we are, my very first placement match!
Placement #1
Here we go. The anxiety is kicking in already but I must carry on!
The map is.. erm.. I actually don't know! Well that's an embarrasing start isn't it? >_<
It's the mighty Kanin as Terran against another Terran (although he had a Protoss portrait)
I start off building my scv and sending my workers to the mineral line. Not quite pimpest play material yet, but alas! we're off.
I attempt (keyword) a wall-off with a supply. And then I go to build a barracks
My barracks is... how can I put this nicely?... super freaking delayed! but nevermind, it got down in the end.
After a short while I put down a second barracks for no other reason than: Hey you know what I'll do? I'll spam the crap out of marines and marauders!
Take notice of my amazing wall-in skills. Try not to be too jealous.
An engineering bay goes down next. Why you might ask? Well, that's good question. Because upgrades are, erm, good? That was my reasoning, I'm sure you can think of around 5 billion better options for me to do, but ah well :D
I move my forces out. Now, I could lie and say that this is an intricate timing attack that I planned meticulously down to the last second. But I'm sure you wouldn't believe that so here is my reasoning for it: "Right, I got some units, let's go shoot things"
Oh yeah, and the massively delayed stim was planned... honest... >_>
And would you look at that! My plan worked PERFECTLY. I wandered into his base, blew some stuff up and got a GG in the process. Who said you needed high APM to be good in this game?
Here is a replay for anyone (note: insane people) who wants to watch this clash of the titans!

And there we have it. First match, first win, who knows where this journey will take me?
Will I be mining for diamonds? or will I be stuck polishing bronze ornaments.
I think we all know the answer to that
