Best of luck raising a team! It's tough, but definitely worth it. Keep us posted and good luck in the Spring season!

Are there any requirements for the eligibility of players in the CSL? I'll start the semester in UOttawa, but may graduate before the semester's end
|
that's fine . although I don't know how you can graduate before a semester finishes o-O
|
He's just THAT smart.
I'm in if you don't mind someone who hardly ever plays being on the team

No classes, just gotta finish, submit and defend my thesis. Though from what I've heard, that process is painfully slow

hell yea im all for this! [OH]Kuo OTW

From the CSL site:
* All English-speaking North American universities can register in CSL. * Players must be enrolled in their respective institutions as students (either undergraduate or graduate) at time of registration. * Players cannot be suspended by CSL for previous infractions. * The minimum number of players per team is four, but it is highly recommended to have more.
Seems like you should be okay Purind. And yea, I've heard it is a pretty slow process.....
Chef, Kuo, definitely! That's 4.
What tag should we use? I'm open to ideas, but should I assume that we'll stick with the [UO] tag for now?
EDIT - we have enough players!

ChefOU is minimalist and makes all our names look retarded, so I like that.
ImpreviousOU
KuoOU
hahahaha!

I've been trying to get people for a Carleton U team together, but I've only found a couple of people who are at all decent. I wonder if they'd allow two nearby universities with not quite enough people each to merge their teams? Although, perhaps it wouldn't work, given the nature of the relationship between Ottawa U and Carleton U.
|
Actually, they do mention that in the eligibility rules - if there are not enough members at one school to form a team, they can join a nearby school's team. at least, that's how I interpreted it. I'll try to find the exact wording.....

I'm more interested in doing this for kicks rather than being super competitive. I guess I'll have to play as a last resort backup if you want actually good players
|
Yea i think we can actually have a good team with our best players.
|
Found it.

Not sure if they are going to keep it for next season however..... You'll need to ask the people in charge of the CSL if it would be okay - and that would have to happen after we make our team.....
|
By decent, I meant able to maintain at least a D rank on Iccup. I've met one D+ zerg, and couple of people who are the sort who've never even really played bnet, just lans with their friends. It's enough for a team, technically speaking, but we'd have two players who'd be completely useless in a real game.
|
Oh, well then no worries I'll be the best player on the team if those are you expectations lol.
|
I have been PMing hazelynut, and, this time, they won't be allowing people to join teams that are not from their university. You're on your own man.....
Contact Kennigit - I think he goes to Carleton. Not sure though.
|
Well we need to force our pro gaming house (ella, gooser, David Kim, cake, wishbones etc) to join
|
I already sent out a few PM's about it, at least to the people who I think go to UOttawa. There is no way I got everyone though. And Wishbones is having problems with his internet at the moment.
So, should I go ahead and make an ICCUP team for us? We should have enough members for a CSL team already, and any more people that join are definitely a bonus.
