Just a thought that struck me when i was sitting on the train into town.
I was listening to my Mp3 player when a catchy tune went on and I started rockin my feet.
I just noticed that I actually prefer to lift my heel instead of my toes as that is way more comfortable.
Which way do you rock your foot?
Poll: How do you rock your foot? (Vote): I Lift My Toes (Vote): I Lift My Heel (Vote): I do both

I thought heel was the normal way to do it. I mean natural way - toes seems really odd.

i've done both. but when playing instruments its often easier for me to lift toes instead. when dancing in my seat i lift my heels more often

I was always taught in jazz class to tap the heel of my foot. That way it moves more of your body and you can "feel" the beat better. No idea if it's actually true or not.

it does help if you cant feel it in your body to begin with. if you do, then it doesnt matter as much and you really should just do whatever's most comfortable. a lot of the best improvisational artists in my school really move to the music (i personally can't improvise to save my life, but w/e)

when playing instruments its better to tap your toes because it causes less movement in your body. i played trumpet in high school so i naturally tap my toes -_-

I do it with my toes

Because I love music, I do this A LOT. I do both!
