And the BM about sentries/forcefields is simply me being "facetious" (notice the name...). I love using them when I play protoss but it's always aggravating on the other side

Change your drone rally to patches that need new drones. I know in SC2 it's like 2 per patch, but it looked like you were rallying a third to a patch that already had 2 and that's no good. You spent too much time looking at the place you wanted to rally your overlord to. Doesn't really matter in the early game, but if you do stuff like that throughout the game it's a waste. You should should never be waiting on money or whatever and doing nothing, and when your first overlord is like that it's kind of bad for your tempo for the rest of the game. | ||

i usually have 1 queen dedicated to spreading creep make a group a lings early on to poke into enemy's base to get any information | ||

Also, try to test the waters a bit more with your lings rather than charge them all up the ramp blocked with the zealots and force fields. You can cut your losses and make him waste force fields. | ||

2. Strategy - why not open 16 pool 15 hatch or something similar? You really didnt benefit from the early gas or pool whatsoever. Also, you shouldnt just say "oh this looks like a 3 gate expand, ill play purely to counter that." Its much better to rule out options, that way you might think to make a couple extra queens to defend against air (which also help for creepspread and defending against regular pressure), and get an early overseer or spore at each base. From what you had scouted, you should have been ready to face a lot more builds. His expo was late and he hadnt attacked you for ages - usually means DT or air. 3. Scouting - you scouted well early, but why not make a couple lings to scout all the time? May as well have a ling at the watchtower and 2 lings at his front. Spread overlords, dont be scared to poke around and see when hes expanded, try see some tech etc. Your first few overlords are the easiest to get in good positions for scouting later. 4. The basics - always larvae inject, use your larvae, dont get supply blocked, spread creep, that sort of thing. 5. Progressing into mid/late game - you need a better composition. Ling into mutas just doesnt do it. You need either banelings, roaches or lots of spines to hold off warpgate aggression, you need some reliable anti air and seriously, just get infestors. Theyre really damn good. Upgrades+ling+baneling+infestor+ mutas/infestors into broodlords or ultras is the way to go lategame ZvP, make sure you're working towards that. | ||

I really like the ling/muta style of Slush vs toss and terran The early gas was for a fast +1 melee, 9 times out of 10 that can hold a 4-gate ezpz with 0-1 spine crawlers. I'm not at all a fan of banelings lately, I'd rather invest in other units. Generally highly-upgraded lings combined with mutalisks have been facerolling ladder, but I know eventually I'll run into some issues with it. I am a big fan of infestors, but I'm not fabulous at controlling them so I have to over-invest for them to be useful(think like "Destiny"). It's one of those things that is a huge time investment for it to be worth it for me and I generally get attacked in that window without neural parasite and only having a few infestors. | ||
