Hi my computer specs: Windows Vista Premium 64bit Intel i5-2500k @ 3.30GHz HD6850 Power Color (installed newest driver/ccc from 9th May) 4gb Ram
running SC2 @ 1680x1050 window mode fullscreen with low settings
this problem started when i switched my old hd4850 with the new hd6850 2 days ago (i didnt change the settings)
when i play sc2 in multiplayer there appear black clear quarters which are flackering on the screen, but mostly when i dont move the screen
here are some screenshots which should provide best view on the problem: http://imageshack.us/g/696/bug1f.jpg/
and im only having graphic issues on sc2, when playing black ops on highest quality it works all fine..
(something off topic where u mb can help: the catalyst control center doesnt open the main window for me)
thanks guys

Have you taken notice of what your GPU temps are when this happens?
|
Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers, threaten your PC with a large blunt object or power tool, sacrifice a goat to a virgin volcano, and cap your framerate to something reasonable so your graphics card doesn't go insane spitting out more frames than your monitor can keep up with.
Seeing as Catalyst doesn't work right, that points at the drivers.

hmm not totally sure, but could be a bad card. have you tried different settings? could u plug your old card in and see if it fixes the problem?

A bad piece of hardware most likely wouldn't be running fine in other games under a more demanding load.
|
it could be really likely that your video card isn't on he right hertz my brother had something similar before
|
dont know whats causing this, but u just played 2 hours straight without any problem

hi cleric,
1. download latest driver 2. install http://www.chip.de/downloads/Driver-Sweeper_32400146.html 3. delete everything graphics related through your normal app interface 4. start driver sweeper - choose AMD - run 5. REBOOT 6. run driver sweeper AGAIN 7. REBOOT 8. install latest driver
should fix your problem

how can it be that the problem still accures even when i just cleaned my windows hdd and installed windows 7 and latest driver from amd??? i dont get it must be smth with sc2 engine imo
|
Try loading with Furmark and monitoring temps, could be heat related. Could need to reseat the video card. Could be having trouble with the current driver version and need to roll back one.
|
hm i just did what azro said. and when i play at the start of the game the fps wen over 300 and the graphic thingy happens to occure at the point when the fps went over 300 for several times. but even later in the game with lower fps these freaky boxes appeared on my screen
|
Try reseating the graphics card. Take it out, making sure you release the little clip holding it into the PCIE slot, and put it back in. Make sure the power cables are secure. If that doesn't help, put the card under load with Furmark and watch the temps.
|
seems that the temp is going up until 80C° and stays around there
|
80 is a bit much but its ok, if this thing happens only after going over 300 fps, why dont you just limit your fps to 300 ?

Or something much more sensible, like the refresh rate on your display.
|
well if i set the graphic setting to high or extreme the issue doesnt appear. when i have really low settings the fps are going up to 300 and the issue appears. i found a middle way now with medium settings and fps around 100-150 and its fine for me
