When IdrA doesn't gg there's usually a reason but Tyler doing it here was a bit puzzling. He's probably just frustrated with himself for losing and expresses it with the no gg but at the same time by not gg'ing he doesn't acknowledge that Socke played well to defeat him. Ah well, whatev.

Maybe because 90% of the SC2 fans are just relative young people. We all know how it is when you don't want to quit a game nicely. But if you do on a public event, people will pick it up and hat on you... I don't think it's being oversensitive at all actually, that's exactly how community SHOULD react to players who don't uphold the established standards of behavior and sportsmanship (which may seem high, but compared to other gaming communities I'd say it's better to have high standards than none). Tyler did definitely not do a good thing there by just leaving the game. I'm just saying it's understandable given the phase he's going through, not that it should go unchecked and that he shouldn't get any flak for it at all. That doesn't mean the entire forum should instantly jump on his back though. -_-

Idra no gging = Bad mannered scrub Tyler no gging = thats okay, understandable etc. Take a break.

Second of all, if people don't gg or not, I for one find absolutely irrelevant. It might be considered friendly to do, but if I lose a game in any sport, sometimes I'm left so frustrated I just want to leave the grounds.

I don't see how the post you replied to had anything to do with Idra (the one before did, but that was just for sake of comparison). We all know Idra's done/said a lot worse than occasionally not gging anyway, he trash talks people directly basically for fun. It's a whole different level of lack of sportsmanship and respect. I don't see what ground you have to complain about people like me having a problem with that. IMO, everyone should have a problem with that. In Tyler's case, I said it's understandable to snap occasionally when things go poorly for you, I never said it's "okay" to do it. I said very literally that it's NOT okay. Just that I understand it and that I doubt it was malicious towards Socke. You don't have to understand it if you don't want to, but you should if you want to be objective at all.

I don't think anyone would mind either if you don't gg after a game.. you are not Tyler .. or Idra.

As Talin put it, there are standards that have been established, and Tyler wasn't following them. However, while he may not have malicious intent toward Socke, it was disrespectful to him, at the very least from our viewpoint. Yeah, it was definitely disrespectful, I don't disagree with that at all. I was just pointing out the difference between players who are intentionally trash talking, being disrespectful and ignoring those established standards and players who snap due to pressure and frustration of losing a game. But apparently that's Protoss crusade to some. =P
