GSTL doesn't. NASL won't. Only short term tournaments release replays, and thats only because not every game is broadcasted (i.e. MLG). I don't think Dreamhack released any. Actually Incontrol said (via twitter) they will release replays at the end of the seasons, so three months from now. imastealthypoo: "@88incontrol hey geoff is there a way we can get a hold of replays from NASL?" 88incontrol: "@imastealthypoo buy HD pass and wait for end of season!"
Oh? I just assumed they would keep them confidential when they decided that they wouldn't release replays...
I guess thats better than releasing them right away... still kinda strange.

In the future, Friday will be a broadcast day, but they're in the process of swapping from a Tuesday - Saturday broadcast schedule to a Wednesday - Sunday broadcast schedule. Today just happens to be the day that was chosen to make that switch.

Hello you tech-savvy people! Is there any way to watch NASL videos in Low Quality settings or something? I just watched three 1st matches of NASL Day 1-1 and it ate all of my daily bandwidth cap!
I'd want to continue watching NASL but it has to be at 360p or some other low quality setting. Is it possible? The 1080p (?) VOD videos eat my bandwith like CRAZY, and if all the videos are like that...well, I just can't watch NASL.
I can't watch the low quality streams because it airs at like 2am for me, and EU re-broadcast is unwatchably laggy. That lag is not my connection, as my connection is 100/100mb...but with insanely low data cap.

Atm I dont think there is a way, I read that they are working on it. Wondering if they couldn't just make a youtube page as a temporary fix and re-up their vods there?

Does anyone know why they aren't streaming? It's almost a 1/2 hour delay at this point.

No NASL tonight, they are adjusting to their new schedule, play will resume tomorrow

Schedule change. Now is Wednesday to Sunday, starting tonight, so the Friday-Sat turns into Sat-Sun this week.
It's on the website and several places on TL.

Thanks. Too bad

Just got done watching Nada v DDE and Axslav v Squirtle. (Didn't watch the other two games).
I must say after 3 days of watching the NASL, I think that NASL do provide a good job at showing a ton of matches to us viewers, and for a first time start-up, they're really doing a pretty good job.
Having said that, I still think that NASL are still not up to par in terms of production quality. Sound being the main issue, and observing (making it a bit more smooth) and the 4 screen split at the beginning still being able to be ironed up a little bit more. (Oh and is anyone getting a somewhat low framerate when watching the VODs? It doesn't ruin the experience, but it's a little bit noticeable that the VOD is not running as smoothly as it can).
I'm giving them a chance as I bought the $25 pass so I can watch the VODs if there are any recommendable ones. But I think in terms of the whole planning out the event, it's been extremely sloppy.
So many questionable decisions have been made with regards to the map pool (the use of old Tal'darim Altar being the biggest wtf for me), scheduling, etc. It's great that they've been willing to admit mistakes and making changes to improve, but with the GSL starting again, me starting to get busy, NASL will probably just be a side show for when I'm free.
I hope it gets better though by the time the final few weeks come around and there's a vast improvement.

When you open the video, click the 240 or 360p button at the top.

I think he's taking about the VOD not the stream. As far as I know, you can't do that for the VOD.

I heard the millionaire who pays the prize money for NASL made his millions on poker, i just wondering if the FBI owning all those poker sites impacted that person.

Dreamhack will actually release all replays in the coming weeks, and it has released replays before. I don't think it has anything to do with "competitors" as there is no discernable definition of competition in the context of players in a certain league.

+ Show Spoiler +Really enjoyed the Dde vs NaDa games. Classic TvT. Had to think that if Dde base traded when NaDa went to his main, he'd have had it. Love to see NaDa win though.

Agreed, but I think they've said they're working on a number of issues (my personal highlight was that they said they wanted to change the zoomed/cropped view of the casters so they can show off the shiny studio).
As you say, I'm giving them the chance by buying the premium ticket. So far I've gotten the feeling that all the teething problems can be fixed. They've got 3 months to sort out issues during season 1 alone, so I'm fairly confident that they will.
|
As far as I'm concerned, as long as NASL is being transparent about everything and they're improving at a steady pace, they get a pass from me this first season. They're just starting up and problems are to be expected. If many of the problems continue onto the next season then that's a different story.
(I'm also not paying $25 for their package this time. I will next time around if they're still producing content.)
