-From quarter finals you keep on winning 2-1.
I mostly win the first game in ‘first-to-2’ formats, and rarely it give away. Obviously I am very happy that I have reached the finals.
-On the fact that it’s his first final in some time.
I can barely remember the last time I participated in a final. The last one was NHN Hangame OSL. I’m not really feeling anything right now. Probably because it’s so cold! (laughs). The most important thing is that I am able to meet my fans in the final.
-It was a little uneasy early on during the 2nd game…
I was a little anxious, however I kept calm. I played calmly whilst preparing the right play in reaction. The reason I won was because I didn’t allow myself to be too shaken. Also during my practice I have experienced such situations. So I was able to win like this… One thing to mention is that it would be good to prevent the wind during outdoor games! (Laughs)
-Who would you like to meet in the finals?
I’m not too concerned as it is set to be a Zerg player. Having said that obviously I would prefer to play my teammate, Jin Ho (Yellow). To be honest I don’t really mind if it’s Sung Joon(July) either. It only matters that they’re both Zerg.
-You’re very far ahead of Boxer in terms of statistics.
Yo Hwan (Boxer) is truly a brilliant player. When he plays first of all the games are very entertaining. When we actually play we try to do our best. Perhaps it is because we seem have such an understanding that my concentration level increases. Also I enjoy playing against Terran, maybe that’s why I win so often. However, it means nothing to be strong against a particular player. What do statistics mean anyway? What is important is the game you are playing at that moment.
-On his recent outstanding performances in individual competitions:
I don’t know what to think exactly. I don’t know- I just always practice hard. The game is very fun and I just like playing it. It is always better to play to enjoy yourself than as a duty or a profession. Just because I have won often recently doesn’t mean I’m getting better. I’m just putting in a lot of effort in trying to play well.
-Final words to the fans at Pusan:
Pusan truly is a distant place, yet each time there is a game here, you give me a lot of support. So every time I hear your support all my difficulties vanish. The fact that you support me even though you’re so far away keeps me constantly trying hard. I hope to reach an even bigger platform and show you good performances.
Yellow's after-match interview after his win vs July.
-On the subject of his micro being affected by the cold conditions:
It was much colder than expected so I was concerned that I make a mistake in my unit control. I kept warming my hands up with the ‘hotpack’(one of those packets that warm up). There were even mistakes in my scourge control during game 2. I felt a lot of regret because I felt I lost the game because of such mistakes.
-On the fact that he always manages to defeat July in the most important games:
It’s a relief. I’m not too far ahead of him statistically. Had I lost today, I would certainly have been behind. So I am very relieved I was able to maintain the higher win ratio. I feel that it is one of the reasons Sung-Joon(July) wants to face me often. I want to maintain my position above him in the future.
-On the topic of him being very strong in Special Event tournaments.
It is always a good thing to hear that I am strong in any competition. If that statement is in fact true, keeping in mind that round 2 is equally as important, I would like to show a very sturdy performance in round 3 as well.
-Opponent is Nal_rA.
It is especially awkward that he is in my team. In particular Min(Ra) is very difficult to face; his style, and although I cannot specifically pick out a particular aspect of his play right now, he is certainly a player to watch out for. So it seems I will have to focus a lot on these match. I will try very hard in thinking that we must show an entertaining game together.
-Say something to the fans here in Pusan?
I am thankful for the many fans who came. The weather was unexpectedly freezing, to the extent that I was shuddering during the games. They must’ve have been as cold as me, and I think that I won because of their amazing support. I am really thankful for that.
