I watched a fair share of TB casts, he is a great solo caster (although he needs an analytical co-caster to appease the hipster crowd and it just looks more professional) and makes less wrong predictions then tasteless. Oh no the horror of Tasteless forgetting a name every once and a while! I honestly find these things far less reprehensible than TB's bronze level game knowledge. TB may have the greatest SC2 voice but I often wonder if he even actually plays the game. I think you need to watch some of Tasteless' early GOM casts, he is fully capable of casting on his own (and I actually think he was best then). There are now a couple of people like you that are easy to claim tasteless is best caster ever based on his past glory. Yes, he was a high level player - IN BW. Yes, he casted alone- in BW. He is not either of those things now. He is a below average caster now and by his own words plays SC2 rarely. Without artosis he would be a nobody in sc2. Only thing that keeps him his job is the awesome chemistry between them. Again I really don't think its worth getting into this with you but you are actually so far from the truth I can't tell if you are being sarcastic. Tasteless is actually awesome. If you really don't like him out of preference that is fine, but the fact is, most people really do. He knows how to analyze the game at the professional level, hes been well respected as one of the best casters out there for years now, and he does a phenomenal job of casting a game to any audience (being it the most educated or least educated). Well we must have been watching different GSLs then. I was watching last 5 +2 team leagues + world championships. Since you keep mentioning couple of years maybe you were watching something in BW and skipped the Sc2 parts?

Ouch, no liquid players in the lineup, gotta hire another North American player Nazgul to share the burden on Tyler.
This all looks professionaly done so props to IGN.Alex, despite all the complaints its actually a pretty cool line-up + casters. I personally don't like MLG adjustments to the maps but I think I'm alone on that one. Also remember that while things can go without a hitch on replays, NOTHING beats the feel of a live game in any sport. I don't watch NRL or Cricket on TV unless its shown live, still support Starcraft streamed from replays but it is inferior.

Best of luck with the tourney IGN!! Thanks a ton for putting it on and I can't wait to support your efforts by sitting mindlessly in front of my pc for hours watching :D

I actually don't see that criticism of Day9, either. I think of him as being a yell-a-lot kind of guy in tournament casting. No, Artosis provides analysis, Tasteless repeats what Artosis says 75% time and says stupid things other 25% and is not that good at play by play stuff. What he is good is jokes and has good chemistry with artosis. Give someone like artosis to TB and you get a much better casting Archon (if they also develop some chemistry) as TB is superior to Tasteless in almost all ways. This is why I'm not a big fan of TB or HD. They simply don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the highest levels of play. Sure, they could be entertaining, but if they don't know anything about the game then what do you expect to get out of it? I expect to get entertainment. Since TB is awesome at that I will surely get that. On the other hand Tasteless was complete opposite when he was casting alone during world championship. When did he cast alone during WC?? Please enlighten me... Whenever artosis was being a coach and not a caster. He would spend that time either looking or sounding lost or complaining that he was missing artosis even while the games were going on. I can assure you TB would have entertained us big time during those times...

TB is hilarious, good choice. I don't get the caster bashing on TL, it's gotten out of hand. There's 50 people simultaneously screaming, "I hate caster X, Y, Z" without discussing or contributing anything.

Give me a break, that was never during the actual games. I don't think TB would do much better if he ONLY casted with a partner. You are really putting too much into those two days and letting your Tasteless hate take over your arguments. Like, when did Tasteless ever say he rarely plays SC2?

This seems really proffesional just hope that the cast will be everything that MLG is not... GL HF!

Yep, not worth getting into.. Tasteless does a great job at GSL. Most people really like him, if you don't out of preference that is 100% fine but don't think that if because you don't prefer him means that he is a bad caster by any means. He does great.

While I personally love TB's casting style, I understand he's not everyone's cup of tea. However, it seems some people want every tournament casted by Day9/Tastosis. That's just not possible. Those guys are extremely busy and already have a lot on their plate. If we want to see the e-sports community grow, can we move past this caster favoritism? As someone already mentioned, IGN has included a variety of casters to try and accommodate a wide spectrum of viewers, including those tuning to see a Starcraft tournament for the first time. And that's the whole point, isn't it? To get more people involved and watch the scene grow.

You are really putting too much into those two days and letting your Tasteless hate take over your arguments. Like, when did Tasteless ever say he rarely plays SC2? Oh come on, now you are making excuses for him. A moment ago you all were claiming he was casting alone during BW and he is a great solo caster LOL. Decide already?! I have no tasteless hate, I just do not consider him such a great caster as others do. He said he does not play much (or at all) during first 3 seasons and there was talk on TL about it here and there and I do not remember him ever saying he started playing more or talking about it much (except saying he will steal a build to play over the weekend). And yes it was during games. Tasteless was casting alone first part of each game before artosis would arrive and he was doing alone introductions for players and MU and maps. It was all pretty bad as normally artosis does all this and tasteless repeats after him like a parrot.
Pay more attention to this in the next GSL, it is so apparent I do not understand how more people did not notice (it must be the superman/kent thing)

Wheat is legit and I expect PainUser to be solid, but I will be watching any HD casts with the volume off. I just cant stand listening to him.
OH MY GOSH!! I totally remember that game ... LOL. I actually unsubscribed HD on youtube right after that game. I'm actually ashamed to say that I was once subscribed to HD but like many out there during the beta ... I just couldnt get enough SC2.
I don't wanna be that guy who hates on certain casters so I'm not gonna say that HD shouldnt be doing this but I will say that it will decrease the chances that I watch this thing.

I'd like to see you try and fill all that dead-air. I'm sure even TB would get pretty awkward when it's just a camera staring at you for 15 minutes and theres nothing going on while teams try and decide what player will come out next. There wasn't a single game that Artosis wasn't commentating. Tournaments don't hire casters to entertain people while theres nothing going on. They hire casters that are good at what they do, which is casting games. Not telling jokes in front of a camera for 15 minutes, then talking about how they don't understand why MC decided to build 2 gates before he got a robo. What it comes down to is that TB doesn't have any perspective on play outside of bronze league. While Tasteless has game knowledge far beyond most of the people on this site.
You claim you want entertainment and that you'll get that with TB, which I'm sure you will. But why would you also not want the same level of entertainment that you get from both Tasteless and Artosis, along with the highest level of game understanding you could possibly get?

My problem with Total Biscuit is that I haven't played since BW (can't afford a PC good enough for SC2) and even I know enough to be bored by his level of analysis. He seems to treat anyone watching his casts as if they were Bronze. I prefer watching Day 9/Artosis/Tasteless/JP because they don't insult your intelligence and may actually say something insightful that I wouldn't normally catch.
I don't need a caster to just scream in excitement and state the obvious. Look at Chill's neutral commentary; that's essentially what I get out of a TB cast.

Looks like a very interesting tournament, it's a shame HD and TB are casting though, instead of enhancing the viewing of games for me they just put me off and I end up muting them. DJWheat is great though, and I'm sure PainUser will be just fine.

Its really an exciting time to be apart of the sc2 scene right now. Props to IGN for stepping into the scene in a huge way.

Absolutely nothing wrong with TB as a caster as long as they pair him with someone who actually plays the game.
