He makes wrong predictions at least half the times and so on and on and on.

I watched a fair share of TB casts, he is a great solo caster (although he needs an analytical co-caster to appease the hipster crowd and it just looks more professional) and makes less wrong predictions then tasteless.

Oh no the horror of Tasteless forgetting a name every once and a while! I honestly find these things far less reprehensible than TB's bronze level game knowledge. TB may have the greatest SC2 voice but I often wonder if he even actually plays the game.

I think you need to watch some of Tasteless' early GOM casts, he is fully capable of casting on his own (and I actually think he was best then).

IGN is owned by Rupert Murdoch right? Or at least his company News Corporation?

Interesting that the owner of FOX is on board for this, or at least his company is. This might have interesting news for ESPORTS in the long run.

Totalbiscuit feels less compelled to give analysis, that's the only reason he makes fewer wrong predictions than Tasteless. Totalbiscuit is a silver player and Tasteless was a high level Brood War player who has been high level in SC2 as recently as release. I know that's not the best credentials in the whole wide world but it makes him a better analytical caster by default, and I don't think his partying or apparent lack of playtime has made him worse than TB at commentary. That would take a real effort, no offense to TB.

that's why tasteless's casting recently has been puzzling. i don't think levels by "default" make anyone a better or worse caster. they do tend to though...

Archangel, Tastosis are quite possibly the most respected casting team in the community BECAUSE they can provide analysis. Having relatively high level players participating in the casting for the league can only help. You can even find a lot of love for Tastosis outside of TL, such as on the battle.net forums.

I actually don't see that criticism of Day9, either. I think of him as being a yell-a-lot kind of guy in tournament casting.

No, Artosis provides analysis, Tasteless repeats what Artosis says 75% time and says stupid things other 25% and is not that good at play by play stuff. What he is good is jokes and has good chemistry with artosis.

Give someone like artosis to TB and you get a much better casting Archon (if they also develop some chemistry) as TB is superior to Tasteless in almost all ways.

I don't know about you, but I like my casters to have experience playing the game they are talking about. Sure, TB has played some SC2, but he has no where near the experience that Tasteless contributes. Sure, TB can be entertaining, but does he have any insight into what the players are thinking or feeling in the booth? NO.

This is why I'm not a big fan of TB or HD. They simply don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the highest levels of play. Sure, they could be entertaining, but if they don't know anything about the game then what do you expect to get out of it?

Tasteless provides a very good balance of humor and live experience. The reason people think he's not knowledgeable about the game is because Artosis seriously knows this game so far inside and out that it's not even funny. I'll even go ahead and say it. he is probably the most knowledgeable person in Starcraft 2 (when it comes to pure game knowledge). You saw when Kelly first started commentating Code A with Tasteless he showed some of his game understanding, though it wasn't much, I'm sure it's tough to switch between the "shout-caster" roll and the super analytical caster that Artosis fills.

The idea of TB and HD casting at the same time sounds absolutely terrible. Even djWheat has no idea, he's just an entertaining caster alongside someone like Day9.

HD is better than 99% of the playerbase, mid masters level player. Stop acting like he has absolutely no idea how to play. He isn't anywhere near Artosis(The caster by who all others shall be judged), but could beat the majority of the people who post on TL. PainUser is a high level player, while Totalbiscuit and DjWheat will probably be the play by play guys.

How can you predict a game of sc2 unless it's an obvious stompfest?
That alone makes your argument false.
I don't watch sc2 so I can hear casters nameing marines, neither would I watch football to hear about the QBs personal life.

I'm really looking forward to PainUser casting. I think that's an awesome choice, and I really like him as a person and a personality. Hopefully his high level knowledge will get people excited about the game.

I've never been a fan of Total Biscuit after watching him cast a few games. When he doesn't know what he's talking about, it's hard for me to concentrate on how great a game is. I'll give him a chance though, especially if he's co-casting with an analytical commentator.

He's talking about understanding starcraft at the highest level of play. which HD does not. Being mid masters just means you have played some RTS before and have decent general game sense. The only caster listed for this who knows how to read the decisions of the players in this tournament will be painuser. HD is fine at being some white noise in the background while I'm trying to watch a game. But don't try to pass him for any type of analyst at the professional level...

There are now a couple of people like you that are easy to claim tasteless is best caster ever based on his past glory. Yes, he was a high level player - IN BW. Yes, he casted alone- in BW.
He is not either of those things now. He is a below average caster now and by his own words plays SC2 rarely. Without artosis he would be a nobody in sc2. Only thing that keeps him his job is the awesome chemistry between them.

Regarding casters; I think that having DJwheat and TB as casters are great, but I'm not too fond of the idea of solo-casting... might turn out to simply be watching a replay while getting a play by play, no analysis whatsoever. I think and idea could be to alternate players to cast with them? Like, any somewhat known player, could fill the role as a co-caster and be the wall for questions to bounce on.

Wish this would be a well run NA/Euro team league similar to GSTL but otherwise sounds sick. A live quarter/semi/finals with audience something like NASL is doing would be sick too but otherwise I'm happy ROOTingforROOT!!!!!

There are so many moments recently when tasteless says something that makes little sense, and artosis responds with a "..." like when tasteless said "i can't believe terran didn't wall off!" against P, and artosis just said "..."

whatever, i'll stop, don't wanna get flamed on the next GSL broadcast

Cool stuff! Only thing that jumps out at me is having the VODs on the bracket page, since that sounds like it would obviously spoil the results for people who missed the live cast. Will there be a spoiler-free VOD page as well?

Right now the bracket page is planning on being updated live. However, you have a good point about having a content delivery system that won't spoil the end result. I'll talk to the team about how we can implement something like that. Thanks for bringing that up!

couldnt you just have a live bracket page (maybe have vod links in it) and second spoiler-free vod bracket, with a toggle that shows the player names for certain parts of the bracket or maybe the whole round if the user wanted

On the other hand Tasteless was complete opposite when he was casting alone during world championship.

Again I really don't think its worth getting into this with you but you are actually so far from the truth I can't tell if you are being sarcastic. Tasteless is actually awesome. If you really don't like him out of preference that is fine, but the fact is, most people really do. He knows how to analyze the game at the professional level, hes been well respected as one of the best casters out there for years now, and he does a phenomenal job of casting a game to any audience (being it the most educated or least educated).
