Notes:
I finally got my camera fixed, but I'm really, really out of practice. I can't do event photography due to my health still being pretty bad, and having sold my super expensive lens to get money for shipping my book collection home. However, I'm having fun just doing practice shoots using my figure collection.
I decorated six Phat playsets to make a classroom, and transported one floor (three sets) up onto the roof to take a few practice shots. I'd like to upgrade to a better set up, but I'm still researching which cameras/lenses are good for specifically shooting figures/close up work.
It's frustrating not being able to use photoshop to edit the photos, but I only have my netbook to work with.
[EDIT]
I forgot to include details of the figures. Since Hobby Square opened two branches in Seoul I've become something of an avid collector. Anyway, the figures are all 'Nendoroids.' They're made by Good Smile Company (http://www.goodsmile.info/top/en/) I really love how they have an impeccable english site plus a couple of great english language blogs.
Each Nendoroid costs around $49-65 depending upon the amount of extra parts. They're not cheap, but they are a lot of fun to photograph and display. They're also very versatile. I find myself changing their option parts and poses upon a weekly basis.
You can also buy mini versions (blind-boxed and in sets.) called 'puchis' or 'petits' for about $9-10 each. (Sets are usually around $30-35.) Blind-boxing is a biotch, but does allow you to get lots of spares for presents or modding, and I kind of like the lottery element of it.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I'm not really knowledgeable about photography but these seem really well done, even though as you mentionned, photoshop is really essential

God damn, the detail and refinement on those figures are jaw dropping.
And the photos, too...almost forgot about that.

Whoah, amazing!
That is some very creative use of a fan (I am guessing correctly?)
FYI, this figure blogger has his equipment listed on his site. It could be useful. You might also want to check his photos =)

Awww, I hope you can fix it soon! Mine was a broken image sensor. It wasn't too pricey to replace, but it came back from the engineer when I had only a little bit of money left >.<

LMAO. She's already gotten dissed for hitting the wrong side of the drum too. Poor Mugi.

Well, I used to be a semi-pro for TL and some other places. This is my body of work (don't look at the oldest stuff, it's rubbish!)

I retired a while back to focus on my health, but I still do the odd project for TL.

Correct :D I was so worried about dropping something into it (eventhough it's not a working fan) but I liked the lines it provided to draw focus in to the girls themselves. I really want to mock up a proper stage though.
Thanks for the rec - I'll definitely share my findings :D
