The only reason those players were able to participate in IEM was because they all lost spectacularly in the Code A Ro32. None of those players deserve, let alone good enough, to be a part of Code S. Furthermore, these players were sent down to qualifiers and doing this will give them an automatic spot in Code A again. Of course, I understand the quandary you're in, and I don't have an actual suggestion short of having the Code A losers playing it out for the last spot, but I can say that this is highly unfair for everyone involved. Saying none of those players deserve code S is a bold statement. If they can take down a code S player in the up/downs they're just as good as if they were bad for losing in the first round of code A.

alive has the 3/4 o clock gold base up and running. Supernova attempts to push, but gets owned by alive's superior forces. Supernova GGs.

Since he's never been able to qualify into Code A on his own? Yet now he's managed to reach Ro8 once he finally got in. This decision solves a problem. The current final 4 of IEM are all Code A level anyway. It's simple, it's easy and it's safe. Unless anyone has a better solution they should be quiet. This is a pretty good solution considering.

On the other hand, if this really was the case the Code A winner and Code S 3rd placer should have no problem beating them down. And they were already giving out free Code A spots.

Oh my god please inform yourself before spreading nonsense. These players were invited to IEM before they lost. GSL had it organised that these players can go to IEM even if they are still in code A, there would have been rescheduling. When Ace and Squirtle were invited they were believed to be among the strongest Code A players based on their GSTL games. And even if they lost a bo3 I think that this might still be true.

It just so happens that the Korean invites ended up dominating the tournament.
