So I surprised myself today. I sat down and played a round, in spite of my mouse drifting. Long story short, my mouse has been drifting for a short time now, and I am getting an RMA as soon as I get around to sending my current mouse off.
I digress...what I'm thinking right now, is this ZvT I just played, usually when someone drops Maurauders on me I kinda freak, especially when he throws Medivac & Tank at me too, but this time I responded. Yes, my replay (which I haven't quite figured out where to upload to, suggestions welcome :D) shows me starting to what seems like a 8 pool, but realistically, I'm not doing that at all, I use it as a scouting force mainly, and it freaks most people out, and since I don't keep pumping out units (unless they're really unprepared, then I do some damage) I will move on to a build according to what I see. In today's case, I decided to pop some roach and some more Zerglings just to get something going and gauge what he was going to do against me.
I just feel good about this round, even though I did stop my Macro to watch the battle that ensued...which makes me realize how much work I need. But the match itself left me with a nice flavor of confidence in my step, which I will try and regain over the next few matches, just sitting there trying to stay calm, I feel that might be key to getting anywhere in this game. I am prone to freaking out in games when something seems to go horribly awry and I'm sitting there getting shrapnel blown in my face, helpless like a quadraplegic in a kick boxing match.
Today was an interesting match, I'm going to go over it a few times and see what I really did wrong, and see what I need to start actively focusing on. I feel that my total lack of defense at the main and expo are my issue, and what causes me to stress in the game, but then again, I also have the ability to add those in as necessary, I could've afforded some spine crawlers. I had a point where I lost all my army, sent a small group of Roaches after the Eyes to see if I can gain an idea of what's up, and he sends out another force, that pulverizes my Roach group, and I panicked making what I could, but it paid off in the end.
We'll see how I improve (or fail) later on, see if this was just a fluke or if it's me understanding the game better.

I think you'd be better off feeling safe because of good scouting rather than feeling safe because you are heavily cutting economy to be the first one to attack. If you want your play to scale through the ranks it would be way better to just die stupidly because you didn't scout or didn't respond correctly. 8-pooling isn't going to win you games in the long run

No it's not, which is the reason I don't really 8pool attack, i 8pool scout after scouting a drone in, depending. I drone in a lot of the time, but the Zerglings are more of a look at what's there, try and minimalize threat if necessary sort of thing.

But it's still cutting your economy a lot which is why it's not used in higher level games. You're better off going something standard like 14 pool to stay safe while still keepinga good economy.

Upload it to gamereplays.org
They don't make you have to log in to download it or anything. Easier on the peeps who want to check it out.
of course, you'd still have to register.

I've started using GameReplays.org. Seems like a solid site, even though it loads kinda slow, but I like it. Creegz is the username on it for those who are interested.

I have noticed that somewhat, but it's not really that bad, because I gotta push up the pool at some time. Doing it early or late isn't a big issue, and since I only do one small group of Zerglings, I don't see it as anything less than useful. If I don't get into their base, I use them to defend mine for the time being while I get teched up.
