I just looked it up after you mentioned it lol. Nice tracks though mate, would love to hear some more though, so keep uploading! Ty ty! It's the full version 9.0 I think. All the synths are made with an external vst though called Sylenth1. I would love to do something more pryda-ish/typical progressive but I'm not quite there yet. As for the deadmau5 sound, I know a lot of people think it's tedious but I still enjoy it.

I think you dislike the fact that other people on TL post music blogs besides you. This is shown in your comments in many threads being overly harsh and snide. I couldn't help remember your comment in one of my blogs "decent mix but god damn do I hate electro house". How about you be positive for once and stop being such a dick or else people will do the same to your blogs.

So what you are saying that people become better and try harder if everyone just applauds when someone feels like uploading a mp3. I have listened to this stuff for about ten years now so I think I have a pretty good grasp about what is cliched or not. I haven't yet seen any constructive critisism in this thread so here it goes. The synths sound like they are just your normal presets with your normal echos and reverb effects added on. Great synthsounds come through layers and layers of different modulations and oscillations. I'm sure that your VST- synth whatever it is, can do much more than in this tune, just go exploring! The melody is uninspiring. And by uninspiring I mean that it is predictable. You can whistle through the whole melody just by hearing the first bar. This doesn't mean that you should go and make your melodies too complex, because it tends to get chaotic. I always say that simplicity is where you should aim, but with good taste. For reference about the whole simplicity thing: Also, your drumsection needs a little more work. The basics are ok, you have your basic claps and hihats and what not, but it needs something to make it interesting. BT is a master as what comes to little tweaking in this sort of stuff, his Progressive sided tunes are astounding in what you can do with Drums. You are not obviously BT yet and those little tweaks take time to make. What I'd suggest is that you start a new FL Project / Reason Project / whatever you are using and export that tweak as .wav so you can use it later for the tune you are making.

Thanks for the criticism. I want to say that I don't use presets or loops or anything like that because making synths are most of the fun for me personally. Tweaking this pluck and fiddling with delay, stereo separation, verb and eq actually took me a long time as surprising as it may sound. I agree though that on the whole its pretty empty and could use a couple more elements and even more importantly better arrangement, and sadly I'm much too lazy to stutter edit drums properly like BT would in every single one of his tracks. Or rather I get bored with the projects too easily so i rarely ever spend more than 3-5 hours on a single project. Kind of silly of me to be posting stuff I guess. :O Then there's the idea that progressive tracks need advanced and intricate chord progressions which is something I wouldn't completely agree on, but I understand where you're coming from if you're a veteran trance listener. You guys tend to really dislike the 1/8 or 1/6 note "deadmau5 sound", which is fine.

You guys tend to really dislike the 1/8 or 1/6 note "deadmau5 sound", which is fine. I think that there is your main problem, using too little time on the tunes. Good tunes take weeks, months to produce. Nah, I don't personally dislike the whole 1/8 thing, if it is done right. And a little trivia that "deadmau5 sound" wasn't originated by the mouse himself. This little beauty by Probspot was when I first heard it, don't know though if it is _the_ first time it was used as a base for the whole song.
