And I treat everybody on the internet as male unless I know the poster is female. Just having a female avatar or a female sounding name isn't enough.

But the thing that really annoyed me about people when I worked in a computer retail store was when they pretended to know everything. There are even some people who even come into the store just to brag or just to have someone to debate with. I still remember this one day, in front of a bunch of customers I was already helping, some random kid asks me a question. Now, I loved my job and I wasn't one of those people who got annoyed by customers. But since I assumed it was a generally quick question, I stopped and answered while a host of customers were still following me. He asks me, I want to buy video card x or y. Which would you prefer? I don't even remember which cards they were, but I told him which one I liked. He proceeds to explain to me why that card was not the right choice along with every technical reason why. Finally, he said, "and they're the about the same price, so that's why this one is better." Coy smile and all. Pretty much, making me look like I don't know anything about anything to all these customers I'm supposed to be helping out. So I say, "Well, actually I just said that one because it's $30 off, and has a $20 rebate right now, so if you think all that stuff you said is worth $50, then ok. But obviously, you already knew exactly what you wanted, you just came in here to have some social interaction outside of your mom's basement and since it's Saturday, this would probably be the only time this week you talked to a real person face to face. Next time you want to try to flex your e-penis, do it over the internet, and don't waste anyone's time who is actually trying to do some work and helping people out." And walked off. And then there are those people who walk around tell customers not to buy stuff you are talking to them about. "Don't buy that, that's way overpriced and it sucks. My AMD 64 is way better than that." Seriously? Why did you even come here then?
