Hey,
will there ever be a new forum layout?
It is ok like this but there a missing some essential things imo.
like
rss feeds reminder function email on reply
just for example...
There are daily more then thousand posts here and if I post something in the morning im not able to find the thread again next day. If I find the thread again who knows on what page this was and did anyone reply to the message?
Since now i needed to bookmark the thread or write the pagenumber down.
Why having this so difficult nowadays if there are a lot more userfriendly forumstyles with even more functionality.

RSS Feeds....too many posts Reminder for what? Email...no
The TL forums are great, but they take a little getting used to. If you make a post, you can click "Posts" at the top left and you'll be able to see where and get a link to it. Also, you can always just try reading posts. You'll be surprised when you go back to the thread, you'll recognize a post and say "read it".

You can click on "Posts" in the upper left corner; that gives you a list of your most recent ones (50 most recent posts by your account), you can use this to find specific ones.
Alternatively, you can use the search function in the upper righthand area, search for your own name in the "username" section; to check if someone's quoted you, you can search your name in just the "content" section.

Or you can go to the index page and click "threads I have posted in" / "threads I have created".

They also have sparkly signatures / quotes / and avatars too. Want those as well?

you know why I love TL?
Because users aren't allowed to have 600x800 signatures with sonic/naruto hugging each other speaking nonsense japanese

I gotta be honest, I had no idea this existed. I've always used the posts button in top left.

I gotta be honest, I had no idea this existed. I've always used the posts button in top left. Both are inferior to simply running a username search on yourself, though, as they return far fewer results. Edit: Maybe not necessarily inferior in some situations (lots posts in few threads). Well the posts button is definitely inferior though.
There's actually a lot of clickable things on TL that are hard to notice; elements that lack visual distinction. Even "create new topic" is in an unintuitive place.
And although I've come to accept that TL won't have many modern forum features anytime soon, it doesn't stop me from yearning for them.

There are enough terrible threads on TL already, making the new thread button easier to see would make the problem worse I actually like that there is a learning curve to TL. It makes people invest in the website or get out.

user-friendly is opinionated mostly to what people are used to. Sort of like how people choose browsers, they pick one and stick to it maybe changing once but then swearing to that for years on end, because change is hard.

Wasn't there this one guy who's quote had something to do with Nagzul's icon piecing up into the quote space.
The things i disagree with is not features but rather visual style.

why so many quotes ? well there is a "mark-quote" option out there as well.. you select the posts that you want to quote and then you see them all together when clicking on "post"..

Maybe the battle.net forums were better suited for you after all.
