- Your team improved to 3rd place.
▲ Leta= At the beginning of the season we were knocked down in the standings - it's a great feeling to claw our way back at the end of R1. I'm glad I was able to my part along with everyone else, and hopefully we'll keep our momentum in the following rounds.
▲ Skyhigh= We made it to 3rd place without really noticing, maybe we'll somehow make it into 1st place that way too.
- How did today's games feel?
▲ Leta= Yesterday the coaches pointed out some of my gameplay flaws. I made some improvements based on that (in macro?), and that's why I won in the first engagement.
- Your TvP seems to have improved significantly
▲Leta= I'd been training my TvP before, but I took a little break from that, and got owned pretty badly. Thankfully, the coaches helped me out, and my TvP has gotten back on track.
- You lost a tank early on
▲ Leta= It wasn't too big of a deal. Though I lost the tank, I still took out most of his workers, so I was still in the game.
- Your opponent went all-in.
▲ Skyhigh= I figured that since my opponent was very low on resources, the chances of an all-in were high. As long as I stopped it, I had the game.
- What were you thinking once you confirmed it was a Zealot all-in? [T/N - I find it hilarious that the Chinese name for Zealots in this interview was "XX" - roughly, it kind of means "poke poke", like "poke with a fork" or something.]
▲ Skyhigh= Typically when you see a fast citadel it's a DT rush and that's what I expected, but he actually went for mass speedlots. Thankfully I had a strong simcity and repelled him easily.
- You don't have many chances to start.
▲ Skyhigh= Although it's unfortunate that I haven't been able to play much, it's only natural, given the fact that my skills aren't up to par right now. I still have a long way to go.
- Did you want to snipe Flash?
▲ Skyhigh= I wouldn't say snipe. It doesn't matter who I face - if it's Flash, then even better.
- You can't be satisfied with a 4-4 record?
▲ Leta= I've always been a slow starter, so I'm not terribly disappointed. There are still many matches left to go, I'll just have to do even better in the future and get more wins.
- Your intra-team rivalry must be fierce.
▲ Leta= It felt a bit difficult at first, but now we're used to it. We've got a good team - when someone needs help there's more time to help prepare, and that's definitely nice.
▲ Skyhigh= The competition is fierce, but there are more matches to prepare for now and that gives our team an advantage. Although at an individual level it's a con, but from the perspective of the team it allows players to diversify. I've got to work harder if I want to become a consistent starter.
- How are you preparing for Round 2?
▲ Leta= Round 1 has been pretty tough as it is. We'll rest well during the break, and come back even stronger in Round 2.
▲ Skyhigh= We went 5-4 in Round 1 - given our lineup, that's not a satisfying result. We'll take advantage of the weeklong break, and make a push for 1st place.
- Final remarks?
▲ Leta= The college exams are upcoming, I hope high school graduates can get good marks and get into universities of their choice. Be sure to come back and cheer for us once you're done with exams!
▲ Skyhigh= Thanks to all our fans - the administrator for our team's net cafe is also taking exams, and I hope he does well. For those that are retaking the exams, I hope you make the most of this chance and get into college! (haha).
- Thoughts on helping the team win?
▲ Horang2= I don't want to go on a losing streak; thankfully we were able to end Round 1 with a victory, and a lot of credit has to go to the team.
▲ HoGil= I'm glad I was able to do my part.
- You're pretty much ranked 2nd in your team now
▲ Horang2= Central Plains sees a lot of Protoss, and I win a lot on that map - that's all there is to it. Movie and Snow helped me practice a lot, and I'm sure that had something to do with my success.
- You've played on Central Plains the most
▲ Horang2= Honestly, it's not like I really love the map. But it's really weird - as long as I start there, I somehow win. I've got to thank the map maker, haha.
- Your Protoss seem to be doing the best recently
▲ Horang2= It's not just Toss, all the races have been doing well - I guess Protoss have been pretty lucky in recent matches.
- You played against Suny
▲ HoGil= This map is T favored, so I didn't want to play a ZvT, but I was pretty lucky and won anyway. As long as I win, I'm satisfied.
- Has your ZvZ improved yet?
▲ HoGil= My ZvZ actually isn't that bad in practice. But somehow in televised matches or in mind games, I fall behind a lot.
- After your teams merged, your Zerg lineup got very strong.
▲ HoGil= When I was in Sparkyz, I was one of the top Zergs - my role was more of a teacher than a student. But after the teams merged, I've been learning a lot, and it's helping immensely.
- It's impressive that you got into the starting lineup given the fierce competition
▲ Horang2= It's a competition, but ultimately, it's all about the team, so it's not really an issue. Personal competition is also for the sake of the team, so there isn't much personal ambition.
▲ HoGil= Because it's a Bo7, players have to step up if others falter. It's all a cycle and comes around eventually, haha.
- Round 2 is coming up.
▲ Horang2= We'll worry about that when we get there. First things first, take a break! Then, we'll prepare with our team.
▲ HoGil= My personal goal is to win so long as I start. Rather than think of it as fight for a starting position, I think of it as needing to win every single match that I play.
- Final remarks?
▲ Horang2= A large number of people helped me practice on Central Plains this time, so thanks a bunch. For those that are taking exams, eat some chocolate and do your best [T/N CHOCOLATE GOOD FOR THE BRAIN YO]! In particular, I've got a friend who's taking the exams - he said that if he gets into a good University he'll treat me to a meal, so I hope he makes it, haha. If you want, I can buy you a good luck charm.
▲ HoGil= My older sister already got into a University, so congrats to her!
