This is a NKRO costar board, it's virtually identical to the most expensive Filco I meant a Das :O i get those things mixed up cherry keyboards are definitely available in the US. Just gotta do some searching.

i have lans at my house like every other week with a ton of nerds who use my computer/keyboard and there has been a 100% consensus that its the greatest keyboard they've ever used, super responsive blah blah blah if you're gonna play even semi competitively, get yourself a good mech keyboard. i spend 120$ on shoes for running, so comparatively..

Any advice as to which keyboard I should get that is nice but not pricey? I think the Rosewill one mentioned in this thread is one of the cheaper ones at around 75 after discounts, but if you're going to invest in a mechanical keyboard, you're probably going to have to pay good money. Nothing wrong with a rubber dome keyboard if you're trying to keep things cheap, though.

I heard that one had Cherry MX blue switches, and checking the website, it supposedly does, I assume therefore, that it'd be quite good? The difference should be in build quality, and I don't know how quality the construction on the Razer Black Widow is. Personally not a fan of the macro keys and funny business, but it looks solid. I haven't bothered to find reviews. EDIT: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=158928 Also I'm looking for a review comparing this to a filco, also hopefully a das, though I suppose that's aimed more at typists than gamers. MORE EDITS: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20014031-1.html "According to Razer, it designed the BlackWidow's key architecture to deliver half the throw action of what you'll find on other mechanical keyboards, such as the Das Keyboard or the Matias TactilePro 3.0, giving you faster key presses during gameplay." Honestly, I'm suspicious of the price tag, but so far, looks good? Not very many reviews running around, and a lot of them seem to be reviews that haven't dealt with a mechanical keyboard before.

They don't use MX cherry they use a weird ALPS/ML cherry from photos I've seen. I'm tired of the mechanical keyboards for gaming fad. The benefit of them is totally nullified in fps game play it's somewhat okay in rts gameplay. But when you play in a rts game you're going to bottom out the keys meaning the benefit of mechanical keyboard in speed of typing is moot esp if you're using cherries. Mechanical are great for typing that is it. You can hear frutidealer and boxer from those camera because they are bottoming out and flico with it's cheap keys and backplate makes loud clacks.
