Assuming a near 100% winrate for custom, co-op, and ffa (assuming you're in diamond, joining a ffa is pretty much a guaranteed win) and assuming about a 50% winrate for actual competitive games:
6000 1v1 + 6000 team games + 800 ffa + 750 co-op + 300 custom = 13850 games played
13850 / 77 days since release = 179.8 games per day
From a time perspective, it seems pretty much impossible. Unless he attempted cheesing practically every game, the ranked ladder games along are too much time.
15 minutes per 1v1 game * 6000 = 90000 15 minutes per team game * 6000 = 90000 15 minutes per ffa game * 800 = 6000 4 minutes per custom * 300 = 1200 4 minutes per co-op game * 750 = 3000 Total times spent in games =190200 minutes = 3170 hours = 132 days
But wait, that's almost twice as long as the game has actually been out. This heavily implies some kind of exploit, 4v4 game dropping, win trading, account sharing, etc. We haven't even taken into account all of the other achievements as well. Not as large of a time investment, but getting all the campaign, challenge, exploration, and combat achievements was probably a couple days dedicated work too.
Beat me to it. This. Soooo this.
People in the first pages saying "that's not that impressive" are fucking idiots. I, like the poster above me, don't even believe it was done legit.
edit: 15 minutes is about right (ok maybe 10). A lot of cheese builds might be working, but might not eliminate your opponent immediately. 6 pools are really the exception. Cannons and bunker rushes take more time.

This guy is grinding. If he cheeses and the cheese fails, he's most likely going to leave the game and not waste time.
If you cut 1v1 and team games down to 8 minutes, you still have this guy playing SC about 100% of the time. Things like sleep, food, etc aren't even considered. Almost all of his team wins are in 2v2, so it's likely he found another guy willing to grind that out.
EDIT: Nor are we counting things like time spent in matchmaking queue, load times, drops or disconnects, etc.

It could be a collaborative effort between his friends. Each are skilled at different aspects such as 1v1 protoss, coop, etc, eliminating the break aspect. I'm trying to rationale this without considering any cheats.
If you cut down 1v1 and team games to 10 games, it would take him ~94 days and today is 75 days from release. Okay I concede. I do not believe ffa can be won in a measly 15 minute every game and 10 minutes with cheese is a stretch.
edit: If you factor in bots and exploiting, then it makes more sense.

I like how people are trying to cheapen his achievement by saying "IT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING LOL." If you think about it, neither does your rating, at least until you hit like 2000+.

I don't understand how this is possible. Three days is 72 hours, which means each FFA would have to last 10-11 minutes on average, assuming that he played nonstop for 72 hours and won every single one of his games.
I smell a rat.
EDIT 1: So someone made this connection before me and in much more detail. My apologies!

There's a difference between playing to actually become good at a game and just going through the motions to receive the ultimate nerd achievement. And by "going through the motions", I really mean having no, absolutely NO life at all. This guy probably doesn't know what a vagina looks like. He's so nerdish that even porn sites reject him.
Utterly pathetic, but if he wants to waste his time, more power to him..

This is stupid, the max amount of achievements is 4960? wtf lol

No matter how good you are it's ultimately useless in the grand scheme of things. He chose to go after an attainable goal and did it, what's your goal? Win the GSL?
One man's junk is another man's treasure. What I find utterly pathetic is your ill-founded contempt.

Average is 5-7. Cheese is about 3 mins, maybe faster.
What league are you in where long games are 15 minutes? In my own match history, games averaged 15-20 minutes real time, the longest was 49 minutes against a turtling terran player. Like I said before, even if you cut the game times down to 8 minutes average, it's still too long.

Well for team games, couldn't he just join a game, leave, and re-queue? You'd rack up wins pretty fast like that I would think.

Most team wins were 2v2, so it's doubtful.
