Luckily for us Z the game isn't balanced around 1 random player

Someone made a detailed post about it just after the beta (before this site became flooded from b.net) You could 9rax into a faster orbital command and the Mule gives you a bigger initial econ boost. Meaning 9rax was actually a good way to 1rax FE. yup.... gonna miss that. I want my 10 rax orbital tech build too :-[

52.8% Win rate for Protoss when fighting Zerg. (Diamond)
47.3% Win rate for Protoss when fighting Zerg. (Plat)
61.1% Win rate for Protoss when fighting Zerg. (Gold)
I can explain this:
Gold Zergs can't get drone/unit timing right to kill a 4 gate.
Platinum Zergs work out how to crush a 4 gate.
Diamond Protoss stop 4 gating.

I like the roach range buff a lot, but it worries me that it will make the hydralisk even more pointless in ZvT, and possibly a worse option in ZvP. The implications for ZvZ are also pretty interesting. It's definitely something that I'd like to play with before I pass judgment.
Requiring depot before rax as well as factory before reaper speed is kinda dumb in my mind, though. I feel like restricting the possibilities instead of making them less strong is the wrong choice to make.
The factory thing simply doesn't make sense from the established gameplay perspective. You need a building that has no relation to the unit at hand in order to upgrade it? Huh? It would be like requiring an Ultralisk Den to upgrade Zergling attack speed.

or a cybernetics core for Air Attack and Speed upgrades?,......oh wait

... i dont believe this. well i kinda do.
after all these nerfs to terran (tank damage. reaper harass. depot be4 rax. BC damage.... etc.) i REALLY REALLY hope ppl still keep saying that T is OP. i wanna be the underdog and still pwn ;D
btw// i was just wondering. y would they nerf BC ground damage? BC as an air unit SUX cuz the range is so ridiculous. i think as the most powerful T unit, it should be rugged. just wanted to know what ppl think.

I've always felt that what Z needs is a buff to the mid-game units (hydralisk, infestor) more than the roach, though it is a good change.
And when it comes to the supply depot first, I can understand why blizzard did it (because early terran cheese is RIDICULOUS) but I definately think its the wrong approach. Though I'm not sure what the right approach would be.................

blizzard just remove reaper from the game if that what you want
right now in diamond that the ONLY WAY for put some pressure on the zerg
and anyway they know how to deal with them now , that like open 12 rax ....
if you dont put some pressure they exp , mass drone , take third exp and just outmacro the other player ( greedy dont make you good... )
that the way you want the game balanced in t v z ? the winner = better macro and mindless play ?

That said, the reaper nerfs are totally uncalled for, reapers were pretty much fine balance wise after the +5 seconds on build time (but still shitty design wise). With those changes, reapers will be almost completely useless.

BC's are still super good ground to air. Especially when it comes to TvT; all you need in the late game is more vikings than your opponent and 3-4 BC's and you win.

wow. don't even need to scout terran early anymore. ==
the changes are fine except for depo before rax. that's just uncalled for.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics
Statistics have to be read with some more knowledge. They dont give a good enough view on the real state of the game.

To everyone saying that the match up win percentage statistics are useless because of the ranking system being optimised to try and give every player a 50% win ratio... Here is a little lesson in math and not being a dumbass for once: Lets say every protoss player has 50%win vs toss, 100% win vs zerg, 0%w vs terran; every terran player has 50%w vs terran, 100%w vs toss, 0%w vs zerg; and every zerg has 50%w vs zerg, 100%w vs terran, 0%w vs toss
This is also known as rock paper scissors. Every non mirror match up is not at all balanced and yet every player has a 50% win ratio. I am losing faith in humanity, and it's making me depressed.

and to fix it, they are going to nerf reaper and maruader cheese? wow, now we will never be able to beat the toss if we cant cheese them. <snip> i dont get it, i really dont
If cheese is the only way to win - or even widely believed to be - and Terrans are still winning 40% of the time, early game cheese is clearly too powerful. The correct response is to dial back the strength of that cheese, forcing players to look elsewhere for winning strategies. If the Protoss winrate climbs to 90%, you were right and cheese was the only way to win - so Blizzard can tweak the balance accordingly. But if the Protoss winrate remains the same, or even falls, then the balance issues and need to rely on early cheese were perceptual rather than actual.

We all knew Terran was going to cry when balance finally came. I judge by this thread that the game balance will be pretty close now.

The over reactions in this thread are priceless.
