Well I go to UofT and I'm staying at Woodsworth college and so far its been pretty cool.
So far none of my roommates seem to be like anything found in the horrors of the roommate thread :D
The main issue is food. I've been living on Shin Ramyun, granola bars, and going out to places to eat, its been a week and I already miss home cooking ;;
Frosh was a while ago and apparently some marching band guys or something came in and woke up half the building but I slept through that. Oh and some guy plays club music sometimes stupidly loud, but he'll only play like 9 songs over and over again
So I guess res life so far is okay, I think things will get a bit better next week when we actually go get groceries and cook >_> (yay dishes!~) I'm a bit embarrassed being the messiest person, but its okayish, just not super clean like the rest of them
So yeah, how were your first week(s) of residence life? Mine seem to be pretty average/good
Oh and I haven't really met anyone because I am a SHY AND APPARENTLY LOOK KIND OF MEAN ;_;
|
lol, i remember my frosh week. keggers like every single day. shit was crazy hilarious. but i went to mac so idk how that compares with UofT. the school events were kinda weak, residence house parties seemed alot cooler
|
smile more then imo.
my freshman year was pure awesome. I met all my best friends within the first 2 weeks.
|
UofT! Lots of cute Asian girls! YEAHHH!!!
Hows dealing with transportation over there lol
|
I look awkward smiling imo ><
It's okay as long as you don't mind walking alot!

If you're shy, try getting drunk. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to talk to people. Try to find a nice middle ground between sober enough to be self-conscious and wasted enough to say retarded things.

Your friends will pick up on your awesome drunk quotes and repeat them to your perpetually. The best part is that you won't even remember saying them.

I'm in first year and I'm not in res. Should I shoot myself?

Nah, I never went to res... but you don't meet as many people. I found my non-res life was just a bit calmer than normal first year experience.

It isn't too bad until you have breaks in between classes and everyone goes back to their res. I'm sure as the term goes on, we will all have to study together and whatnot so that shouldn't be a problem. It's a bit harder for me too because in my program, (we have all of our classes together), there are 4 guys including me and 84 girls (I'm not very good at talking to girls).

Eh, then it will be a good experience for you to talk with them... I wish my program was 95% female.

I think I got really lucky with my college experience. I went to a state wide scholarship summer program and when I first went to my state school, basically met up over a year later with great friends I made there. They became and still are my closest friends today.

Hey, a froshie :D First year brings back so many memories lol... By third year (or earlier) you're gonna be like #$&*#($& U of T!!! ...no pressure ;D
I'm on my Co-op (PEY) term now (year 3.5), so I don't go to campus often. Anyway, enjoy frosh year while you can!

My first year in res wasn't too good. Didn't like 1 of my roommates, was kept up by parties, stressed about school too much. It's going quite well so far this year. I'm trying to take it easy this semester and meet more people, join clubs, etc.
|
I'm full-nerd mode this semester (my last).
I rarely ever get out of my basement. I forgot the last time I saw sunshine. I'm starting to get a feeling of how space-life is for a scientist... or Marine.
My friends don't bother me anymore because they know "I'm busy." I think I'm at the peak social-degradation slope atm.
Any questions, feel free to ask. I may not respond.
