Sooo as some may recall in my last blog I was getting surgery on my arm and was waiting on test results to see if I was getting deployed or not..
Well today is the day that test results were supposed to come in and....
They didn't so they grabbed me anyway after telling me that I Would wait a week to be deployed. Only to receive a call a couple hours later after getting all nice and comfy with my gf on the bed to say hey we're taking you anyway. So took the hour drive up to Concord and packed all my stuff and kisses the family and my gf goodbye and off to hotel i went.
I have to wake up at the ungodly hour of 4:30 AM to be on the bus for 5AM to go to the airport for 6AM to get on the plane for some other time in the early morning T_T stupid or something like that. well this is only day 1 or rather 3 considering my active duty days started on the 11th of 365.
Only 362 till im home again gonna go watch a movie and go to bed, sad times right now I miss my gf already .

Nope this is the first time for me, and I'm heading to my MOB site of Ft McCoy Wisconsin first till November. Then after something like 2 months I'm heading to Kuwait.
I'm in the Army National Guard, so after my deployment they can pay for all the college funds

Good luck man. What branch are you in?
I know a couple of guys that have gone to and back from Afghanistan and one guy wanted to go back and the other never wanted to go back again. I guess you just really find out what kind of person you are out there.

This is at least how it worked for my friend in Marine Corps

Just in time to watch GSL!
I was home in NH this weekend and saw on the news they had a big ceremony for a bunch of soldiers shipping off. Best of luck to you.

That sounds pretty rough/inconsiderate but I guess that stuff just happens. gl and stay safe!

good luck and stay safe man! I would never have enough courage to do something like this (plus I'm in no medical condition to either), so what you are doing is truly something respectable.

OOa the money is nice though. I came back from Iraq and easily paid off my car which was $10k. Woot

I am in the 5th Special Forces Group in Ft. Campbell Ky.
My first deployment was 2 months after my little girl was born. When I got back, there were times when I missed Iraq.
Were it not for my family, I would like to deploy more often.
Stay safe over there, fight the good fight, then come back to us and kick some more starcraft ass.
