hello team liquid!
if you're like me, you're terrible at starcraft. why? well because you don't have a high apm! even after consuming an entire litre of mountain dew you still can't move fast enough to spam buttons 300 times per minute... or do you?
being a professional pistol scripter in counter strike, i know a lot about performing actions way faster than you would think to be humanly possible! i have transferred my knowledge to starcraft 2, and i will now show you how to get a pro apm, an apm so high you cannot lose a game, absolutely free*
all you need to do is open your mouse drivers, and change mousewheel up and mousewheel down to "menu"
and presto! you now have legendary apm! just scroll up and down furiously in game!
yeaaah, adjust that rally point as fast as you can, boyo. you can't afford having your zerglings rallying to the wrong pixel
here is the apm from the replay!
now you have it. your apm will be so high that it will be nearly impossible to beat you, and your friends will all glare at you when they see your razer spectre with special apm technology glowing so brightly red that the lights literally burn out.
*i lied it's not free. you owe me money now
+ Show Spoiler +for anyone who might take this seriously, this is a joke. i just want to point out that apm is no real indicator of skill, and it's very easy to fake a high apm. i don't actually do this. it's stupid and pointless. my actual average apm is just 110 =P

Nobody is saying fake apm is an indicator of skill... real apm is though, allthough doesn't have as high impact in sc2 as it did in bw it's still a factor.
|
|
Yeah in BW, APM mattered a lot more IMO. Seems just about anyone can get away with 80-120 APM on SC2 nowadays.
|
That's exactly why I made this:
|
Hm, not possible with logitech setpoint
|
haha, I lol'd at "APM so high you can't lose!"
Definitely played a few of those people in my day. Spamming the rally point so much they miss the timings of a player with 30APM. "Oh snap, I forgot my first overlord..... but I had 300 APM!"

|
71 apm.. down to 22!? Amazing!
|
i can't belive there is people with less than 100 apm ...
|
Tried this. Works. I simply could not lose to my opponent with this many clicks. Thanks!
|
Wait - setting it to double click is actually useful. Double click on unit X and you control 12 of unit X. Hmm. Or ctrl + plus click on unit X and you control 12 of unit X but now you can also just scroll and control 12 of unit X.
|
As someone with an average of 60-70 APM I always lol when I beat someone with an average of ~130
|
Testimony:
I always felt inadequate, but ever since using universalwill's APM augmentation technique, I haven't lost. My APM got bigger and, let's just say I'm satisfied with the results. Where once I was a nub scrub who got destroyed in Bronze league, now I'm a lean mean APM spamming machine! The ladies love my fast fingers to!
Thanks APM augmentation! Now I can now manhandle the opposition!

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to SC, and I've wondered when watching replays why people click all over the place for what appears to be no reason. Is this simply to fake a high APM? I don't get it.
By the way, someone should really consider shortening the time for a new registered person to be able to create a new thread. Searching through threads for something sort of on-topic so I can post a question is really irritating.

its necessary to keep people like you from posting new threads on something as useless as this. this is actually a perfect example of the system working ^_^
people spam early game to keep their apm high and rhythm up. its like during a run when people have to stop at a light to wait for cars but they keep jogging, obviously they're not going anywhere but they have to stay warm to keep the pace up during the intense parts of the run
|
Haha, based on the threads I've been looking through so far, valid questions like these are the least of TL's concerns. A three day waiting period before posting successive "nerf terran" threads would probably be more effective
Anyway, thanks for the response.
