I know of two available public map hacks that do work, even got updated to work with the most recent patch.
I have had one game already which made very suspicious of a player, and upon inspection of replay he was looking at my base constantly through FoW.
Of course I have reported both links to Blizzard, and also said player, but I am wondering how many people have experienced hackers online. Personally it really angers me, knowing that people will get placed higher than they deserve, taking the spots of those who deserved them. It also pisses me of knowing these hacks have been around since beta and that Blizzard has done nothing. I am also surprised at the lack of threads about this subject.
Is it possible people have discounted a map hacker as a person of superior skill? I mean Blizzard gave the impression (at least to me) that they would make this game hard to crack as possible. Maybe if people were aware that hacks are abound more cheaters would be reported?
Edit: clarification

I don't care, there is no system that will make game not crackable/hackable. First people started to attack, then they started to defend. Crackers will be always a one step ahead.

No game is hack proof. There will always be hacks and assclowns will use them. It's sad but true.
|
I think you guys misread: hack proof as possible. Not literally hack proof, but hard to crack as possible, it's quite disheartening to see these hacks available so easily and quickly as they have.

blizzards system will never be hack proof. as long as the data is there people can dig it out.
i just hope they really go strong against hacks in the future. give us antihack progs and permban hackers on the first time. youll never eliminate the few with their own private hacks. but we can atleast punish all the scriptkids.
would love to see the face of the 14 year old hacker when he sees his battle net acc or atleast sc2 multiplayer is banned for life.

HoN is pretty much as maphack proof as it gets. as long as they dont hack into the server they are currently playing on its impossible :>

if we report people for hacks and blizzard actually bans them, there could be a decent deterrent to ebb the flow of hackers..problem with wc3 ladder + hackers was that blizzard just didnt give a shit.
|
What is sad is they have to resort to these sorta gimicks to play up in diamond with the big boys.. But alas 14 year old boys need something to make them feel manly and I guess this is the new thing. They all prolly got tired of World of warcraft arena's and decided playing a hacked rts would better boost there ego.
|
The thing is, they are putting down £35 (or $60) to get banned. That's money wasted. :/
|
I do hope you know that there was a bug in replays during beta, that made people look like they were maphacking.
I don't know if they ever fixed it, so don't start shooting off accusations until you know the truth.
|
I know I review my replays when I get completely stomped and you better believe if they make it obvious they gunna get that ban stick smashed up side there head.

I know, and I made sure.

Too bad banning results in a necessity to buy an entirely new copy. Maybe you can't even use it then because of Real ID/Facebook integration

its not rly a map hack it might not even be anything but i was playing a 3v3 a few hours ago and my whole team got simultaneously dropped about a minute or 2 into the game. after watching the replay, the other team didnt even build anything. it was pretty suspicious, it felt like they sumhow knew we were gonna get dropped.
i dunno if its anything but ya

They might of gotten dropped mid-loading screen, I know I have already.

OMG the "noobs" gonna report in forum like crazy s every time they get stomped... This gonna be nasty. I hope that Blizzard to something about this.

when the game is new blizzard loves to ban for maphacking i got banned early in wc3 days now no1 gets banned

It's hard to imagine that people feel satisfaction from winning knowing that they cheat. It takes away a lot of my will to play knowing that cheaters are out there. Hope Blizzard sues the shoes of the creators.
